Death in June – Rose Clouds Of Holocaust Lyrics 2 years ago
one of the most beautiful pieces of art about world war II; often misconstrued as denying or supporting the holocaust by shallow readers and moralists. i am very aware of douglas p.’s far right sympathies (i don’t know if he is a literal nazi), but this song is not supporting the third reich by any means. the song is also not a simple symbol of condemnation of the holocaust (like many ‘art’ is), but an artistic reflection on what happened. my personal take:

holocaust comes from the ancient greek language, it means burnt offerings/fire sacrifice. the image of pink clouds rising out from the ovens is beautiful and complex. it contains, from the nazi point of view, the idea that jews are the root of evil, and therefore that sacrificing them with fire, to ‘history’ so to speak, is warranted. however, they eventually find out they aren't a holocaust (a justified sacrifice), but a lie. it is a reflection on the supporters of nazism, and the way in which they fled reality with their romantic view of history and the goal of the ‘germanic peoples’, but in a way which is not moralistic or pigeonholing them as metaphysical evil

but “festivals end, as festivals must” (pagan harvest festivals, taking place at the end of summer, also made use of human sacrifice sometimes. did they regret what they did after they saw that winter came nonetheless and they didn’t have enough food?). the hooded crows of rome (fascist italy), the falcons of zagreb (the collaborationist ustase party in croatia helped murder many people under german rule). i find the solemnity in the phrase ‘but festivals end, as festivals must’ especially beautiful. it is the tragic acknowledgement of someone who realizes that the romantic lie under which he was living has to end, and he has to come to grips with the non-rosy reality of what happened

Metallica – I Disappear Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, what a rant! Bet you sat in front of your monitor all night coming up with that one! What's next? Are you going to talk about our mothers? My apologies to all who happen to read this nonsense, as it is quite clear that we are all a little bit dumber for doing so. Be that as it may, I am still going to carry on with it, cause it's just SO fun, heh.....

I happen to think that these people DO know what they are talking about, you moron. They all have expressed their opinions and added a comment or two of their own about the song, which doing so is at the very heart of this website. You, on the other hand, only have faint praise (if at all) for the song. As a matter of fact, in half of your posts that I've seen, you don't comment on the song at all, but you try to offer up one of your juvenile insults, totally missing the point of the forum to begin with.

I would challenge anyone who reads this to browse your profile and read your comments. This guy is an asinine imbecile, with complex psychological issues probably derived from parental molestation, abuse, and exposure to radioactive sources as a fetus. The sad thing is that I know you actually have a brain, because one of your more benign personalities seems to take over when you comment on a few songs. To your credit, I enjoyed your take on a few of those songs. But that pales in comparison to the idiotic rants that you put on the majority of the time. Boy, you have a long way to go in life, and I hope you can get there. Without us hearing on the news about how you plowed into a family of 6 with your mom's station wagon because Wilford Brimley told you in a fever dream that it was the right thing to do, and the tasty way to do it. You should really seek help, young man. And before you come mess with me again, put the crackpipe down, get a job, and find out what life is like outside of your mother's basement.

P.S. I could excuse a couple of errors, cause you are probably tweaking when you post, but really man, find the spell checker. Reading is fundamental.

personaly, i think you are wrong. james always means his lyrics literally; a few days i was reading about a journalist who was anylising the meaning of the song "one" and said it was about the dead of james' mother. james replied: "goddamnit, is it so hard to write a song about some guy who walked on land mine?"

are you a sailorman or what? "yer full of shit". the "yer" part gives me the impression that you are a sailorman. i think "yer full of shit" to say it like you. do you like beans? maybe thats because you're a fuckin' bean a a plainly retarded moron. i wonder what you are going to write back. probably it will take 7 weeks just to come up with a bullshitty story full of sailorproverbs. now this is said, i also think that your not worth my comment while typing this. wanna hear more true facts about yourself(so you can discover yourself from somebody else's eyes) like that you're a homosexual cocksucker, then type a reply to this comment
