| Melvins – Skin Horse Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Love this song. Might be my favorite Melvins song. Can't believe it took me this long to finally listen to Stag for whatever reason. This song really reminds me of Ween - Don't Laugh (I Love You) and you will know what I'm talking about. Love the hyper-octave'd guitar pedal use throughout this album. Love when guitarists use whacky pedals and make them work. I'm guessing he used a Digitech Whammy or something. |

Jesus, reading about Big Black lyrics, they are every bit as dark as the music itself. Damn. If you ever get the chance to see Shellac, I recommend it! Seen them twice, one of those rare bands that sound even better live than in studio (no slight against Albini's production, they're just that good live!). |

Its pretty sad thinking about this concept. Even modern artists talk about this shit. Chance The Rapper (also from Chicago) talks about how he would always tell people he was "mixed" despite being 100% black... and looking back, he says hes really ashamed of that. You look on TV and half the black celebrities are "whited up" unless they're in a role society is used to them in (rapper, athlete, etc). There is a Negativland song that touches on this subject titled "Why Is This Commercial?". Musically its not that great of a song, but its part of a concept album. That whole album is great, and I recommend giving it a listen purely for its "lyrical" content and message. |

| Big Black – Bad Houses Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I agree, the only thing I can think of this being is about a prostitution house. There are some out here in the Chicago area (where Albinis from) so it wouldn't be too farfetched as something he observed to garner inspiration. Musically, this really reminds me of The Fall... specifically the song Mansion. |

| Negativland – U2: 1991 A Cappella Mix Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Negativland? These guys are from California and who give's a shit? Love them so much. Everything about them down to the fact that they're named after a Neu! song. This album was such a ballsy statement with impacts that can still be seen today. Go watch some shitty youtube slideshow of a U2 song and you'll see the Negativland album cover sneak its way in! |

| Negativland – You Don't Even Live Here Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Here was my thought process upon seeing this page. // Due to copyright restrictions, we are not authorized to display these lyrics. // "What! That's the exact opposite of what Negativland would do! Oh maybe its some weird sort of ironic statement-----" Then I realized. Escape From Noise was an SST album. Greg Ginn. Ugh... This is one of the most powerful samples I've ever heard. I'm really curious where it came from. This is probably my favorite song on the album despite the musical accompaniment being very minimal... just the power of the speech used carries the song along well. Also how am I the first person on here to comment on Negativland! Come on people! These are some of the most discussion-worthy lyrics in music! |

These lyrics are SO wrong. These are the lyrics that are posted on every single website. I don't know if these are the words in the CD booklet or what, but if they are then the lyrics were changed between the booklet being made and the recording; or these wrong lyrics have just virally spread from site to site. Hope they are fixed by the time people actually start commenting on here. |

| Yeah, I definitely think this is about some slut who dresses scantily that he doesn't want any part of. | |

| Hüsker Dü – The Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Two of the members of Husker Du were homosexual including the lead singer. If Heaven Hill is a wine... then maybe its about a sad, self-loathing night of trying to drink himself straight. | |
| Fu Manchu – Regal Begal Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| My interpretation of this song is that it is about a street race. The whole song is talking about driving a car, and "I've got a pair [of dice] rolling from my hand" is a metaphor for the risk involved in an illegal street race. | |
