Nightwish – Over the Hills and Far Away (Gary Moore cover) (feat. Tony Kakko) Lyrics 15 years ago
this cover sucks. nightwish should re cover this song with Anette Olzon, tarjas voice is a dime-a-dozen opera voice. so un original. and Gary Moore's original will ALWAYS be better, im sorry, nightwish's guitarist is good, but nowhere near gary moore, and especially the music, this is just generic symphonic music with no emotion.

Iron Maiden – Take Me Home Lyrics 15 years ago
THIS IS NOT IRON MAIDEN!
but great song, by Iron Savior. the song is actually called Deadly Sleep.

the lyrics were written by ex Helloween/gamma Ray singer Kai Hansen along with members of Iron Savior.

Enslavement of Beauty – C17-H19-NO3-H2O Lyrics 15 years ago
AMAZING song, still dont understand the Title, what it looks like is a form of Piperine, (C17 H19 NO3) which is essentially one of the 2 alkaloids found in peppers that make them spicy, but the title has h20 on the end, which is water… to me i cant find a meaning. i

this song is so intense and has a strong meaning. I wish Dream Theater were like that, they lack so much compared to this.

Līve – I Alone Lyrics 16 years ago
this song is great on a macro level in the sense it can be about how church sucks ass when they try and brainwash u by forcing their beliefs on u and not letting you interpret the bible your own way, and also it works on a micro level as it also can be about some failed relationship kinda thing.

Black Tide – Warriors of Time Lyrics 16 years ago
maybe there is a hidden meaning. it quite possibly is about being in a band like this, they are each warriors.
also dragonforce has 2 or 3 songs with well written lyrics, and have probably made it further than anyone commenting here.

Children of Bodom – Black Widow Lyrics 16 years ago
its originally by Jan Hammer written for Miami Vice, the tv show, but its not one of the released songs in the sound track, just background music in the episode "Prodigal Son" the first episode in season 2. also, its most of the song is covered in Children Of Bodom's hidden keyboard solo song near the end of their first album.

Ozzy Osbourne – Mr. Crowley Lyrics 16 years ago
well i know most of the nazi party before and during its rise to power were heavily influenced by occultism, black magick and many other ritualistic cults that have since died out. just because nobody in the general public knows what exactly they studied, they could have well studied Mr. Crowley in they occult moments and picked up the use of the swastika from him. who knows.

Cradle of Filth – Mr. Crowley (Ozzy Osbourne cover) Lyrics 16 years ago
unless ur a cover band, if ur going to cover a song, u should atleast make it ur own, and thats what CoF did. I think its damn amazing, obviously its Ozzy who wrote the song, and it woulda been easy for CoF to just play it the same way (apart from getting vocals close to ozzy) and sound like any other band coverin an ozzy song, CoF put their musical identity into the song, and make it sound completely different from ozzy, while making it sound like CoF for filth fans… or for ozzy fans who dont know wtf CoF is, they hear this, and if they like it they will probably like other CoF songs aswell, because the sound they have is their 'musical identity', what makes them different from other bands.

Unexpect – Vesper's Gold Lyrics 16 years ago
Unexpectedly (no pun intended) most of the music is a piece from german pianist J.F.F. Burgmuller's 109th opus, the 13th piece if i am correct; its called I'Orage. obviously Unexpect tuens it into metal though, probably my favorite unexpect song.

as for the song meaning… no idea.

Van Halen – 5150 Lyrics 16 years ago
I guess I'm mental, but Sammy Hagar is hands down my favorite Van Halen singer, the songs were better with him. I mean, Roth made the band popular with his antics, and he could sing, but I think during the Sammy Hagar periods, better songs were written. I think 5150 is my favorite

Alice in Chains – Your Decision Lyrics 16 years ago
Slipknot, what you said is very true, they should indeed celebrate layne's life, instead of dwell upon his death, but a band like Alice In Chains keeps what can be called a Corporate Identity, that means all their music is distinctly AiC, that doesn't mean every song must sound the same, but they have their own musical subjects of sorts, and I believe It does more tribute to Layne for the band to stay in the AiC vein that Layne has cast during his time in the band; as opposed to moving away from what they have done, to celebrate his life in their music. who knows, maybe if Layne was still alive, AiC wouldn't have put out this album, or may not even be together anymore.

USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) – Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole Lyrics 16 years ago
i have the CD and in the lyrics in the book it says oubliette, which is a type of old prison where they dropu down a hole into a room with no doors or anything, usually the basement of a castle. so its a bit different, but i think all the other stuff is right.

that being said, i still cant make sense of this song.

Iron Maiden – Children Of The Damned Lyrics 16 years ago
I may get shot down for this, but its just my opinion. I have never seen the movie the song people say is based upon, so i have no clue if that is right or not, it very well could be.

but...
to me this song is something different.
I think this song is about the historical witch burning trials.

starting in the second verse thing, it seems it is spoken from one of the people against the witches, kind of saying "we have to burn him (them) or else he (they) will just kill us"

the third part is pretty much describing the burning, but the last part brings to mind how the church killed/punished people who were different or went against their practices, and they learn nothing from that.

but thats just what i take from the song, knowing almost all Iron maiden's album tracks (mainly blaze and bruce era maiden) have historical events or info in them.
