| This song seems a little ambiguous to me. He is speaking directly to who I presume is a girl for most of the song. In the first verse, he seems desperate and lonely, walking by himself at night trying to find his house. The girl he mentions conflicts with his head deeply and he has problems with her; however, he would rather have issues with her than nothing whatsoever. I believe in the second verse, he is singing about smoking weed, most likely out of a bowl ("the taste of butane"). He sees this girl talking to another man and they seem to be having a nice conversation. Unable to take the sight, he leaves to go smoke more, presumably to get his mind off the situation. The bridge, to me, conflicts with the rest of the song. He sings about how picturing this girl makes him more eager to get home. Perhaps his love for her is unrequited, but she is still friends with him. | |

| I think this song is quite obviously about a farewell to a lover. He wants to leave her, but is hesitant to do so, so she ends up doing it for him. The lyrics make some pretty funny use of self-deprecation when he accuses her of not knowing what "au revoir" means. It's as if he is making fun of himself for being condescending to her, and she confirms his condescension when she says "Adios, adios, I bet you think I don't know what that means." I think a lot of people can say they've been in a similar situation to these lyrics. This is a fantastic song, and as the previous commenter said, a great way to begin the new record. | |

| I'm not quite sure, but I think the first half is about a woman whoring herself on a webacam (there is nowhere to hide in a room so full of eyes). I think the second half (the doom-metal part) is about a man who watches her. He has tried to stop his desires, but can't, no matter how hard he tries. | |

I'm really surprised no else has thought my theory yet. I think it's television and computers. "triumphant beyond its glory like a towering prize they stand proud" It's such a wonderful invention. "from their hands a demonic entity, as it comes to life the electric playground breathes irradiant light" It is evil. It has light. And as a "playground," it attracts children. "muses the eyes of the faithful with a single touch cauterization envelops your soul as all joy drains from your body" You get used to using it. Eventually, it takes your emotion away. "knees collapsing, you bow in its aura" Pretty self-explanatory. "in the crowd a head gives the word with a blue glow the playground comes to life unveiling the secret in us all knees collapsing, we bow in its aura" People continue to use it. The same happens to them. But yeah, that's just what I thought the first time I saw it. |
