Wow Honeysuckle.... Did you predict the future? Didn't this just happen with Kate Bosworth? I think inevitably married couples have issues. They can live somewhat separate lives for a bit even though they are "together". Maybe Chris and Gwyneth (like all of us) have their ups and downs. Gwyney is smart, funny, talented, gorgeous and the mother of his children. But life is complicated. Their good friend is quite lovely, herself. Chris and Kate had a love connection. The rumor is that they held hands, they kissed and hugged and were whispering and looking quite fond of each other. Well BFD, I say. These things happen in life. I wish Chris and Gwyneth the best- even tho' Kate Bosworth is a babe and a seemingly good person. You never know what is going to happen in life. I am sure he felt like he "ruled the world" when he had hottie Kate by his side as he was experiencing marital trauma. But, Viva La Vida. Or is that Se La Vie?

First of all, let it be know that I would "do" Ben Harper in a heartbeat. I know I am not alone. I think this song is having to do with someone who has "good energy". This is a quality that radiates from within- just like a face is a "window to the soul". It is entirely evident when someone feels happy and good about life and herself. Diamonds on the inside means that she is "sparkling" and can't hide the fact that she loves life and people. She made herself "a bed of nails" and she put it to use. She was willing to hurt herself to let someone know how much she cared about them. She put herself through pain in order to let him be aware of her love FOR HIM. Isn't that beautiful? I love this song.

I think this is about finding strength and wisdom in experiences. "Good" to me is the same as being "Genuine" and "Open". It is trying to stay true to yourself- your thoughts and beliefs- when thrown into a den of confusion and chaos. I think "real" and "good" is finding meaning in relationships. Real is going out on a limb BY YOURSELF to profess to the universe just why it was that you loved another human being. Real is good and beautiful and honest. This song is gorgeous and uplifting.

Everything and EVERYONE is broken. I've had several friends deal with breast cancer this year. Nothing is more beautiful to me than a person who has gone through a rotten experience and did not allow the trauma to break their spirit. When a person can actually see the positive side of an awful situation and emerge stronger maybe - if there is "god" - this is "god" at work. Seeing the merit in the outcome of a "tragedy" is part of the beauty of living life large. You have hope and that in itself is "healing". We are all broken but we can choose how to move forward. Bob Dylan will always be The King to me. :-)

Right on. I totally agree. Love grows exponentially. If all of your dreams had come true you would not have met someone who meant an awful lot to you. If you have been so deeply hurt and broken by another person that you have to try and do them harm, that is understandable because we are all human and therefore imperfect and fallible. If someone does harm to you and you can rise above it and triumph over the "tragedy", I think that is love in a true sense. I have felt this kind of love for some people in my life. Even though I can't be "with" them, it doesn't mean I can't still love them. There is no ceiling. You forgive them for anything they have done to hurt you. Eddie is inspirational.

Oh also it makes me think of outer appearances. So if you choose gigantic fake knockers and you look like a caricature or if you get your face blasted up with liquids and gels and you look ultra weird and puffy then maybe you have crossed the line and you want to retreat a bit. It's up to you. If you choose to do botox and you look GOOD and your face operates in a functional manner then more power to you. I am jealous. If you choose tasteful small boobs that you like and they make you and a few others happy then goodie gumdrops for you. Do what you want to do. I was at a friend's house the other night and she had put up a fake tree. I was mildly horrified. I was being a wee critical of it to another friend when we left the party. She agreed and so delicately asked the question, "But how can we judge what they have going on in their lives?" So true. Who cares what they choose. I personally would not choose an artificial spruce tree but then again I have a giant elk's head made of balsam mounted on my living room wall. Who cares. Live and let live. Interesting song though. Good job Radiohead.

I am in a band with a group of close friends. One of the guys knows me well. He is a music junkie. I have spent countless hours at shows with him, in record stores, in guitar shops and just sharing music. He is a treasured plutonic pal. I love that he is so passionate about music and it isn't his "job". It is simply a great love for him. Anyway, he knows without me saying a whole helluvalot that I have gone through the wringer this year. He gave me a cd the other night highlighting this song. I think he is saying he could have lied about his feelings for a girl but what good would that have done because a) he isn't a liar and b) keeping things hidden and "inside" just comes back to haunt you. He could never hide his feelings for this girl because it was written on his face and he thought the best thing to do would be to be honest about how he felt. It probably was obvious to everyone around them that the feeling was mutual but she tried to hide hers and then he felt "fucked up" by that. I think the RHCP make the world a better place.
