"End Of Time" by Italy's Lacuna Coil tells quite an interesting story. Visualize if you will a couple, that's a given, who are in the prime of their relationship. A young man in his late 20's experiences a most uncanny passage of time marked by a physical change to his body: sadly, his first grey hair. When he sees the top of his head the mirror he's aware that this abnormality was inevitable: he's aging as a result of sleep loss and stress from the moment his lover left him. Realizing he will have to adjust to his appearance makes him more withdrawn. He feels cursed to have no friends or family. He is utterly alone. So he packs his bags and he is about to board a plane. He never saw the countryside. The only way for his broken heart to heal is to see the beauty of the land and the stars in the sky, leaving behind a corrupt, cold society which included his former girlfriend whose memory haunts him forever. When all he knew was loneliness a miracle happened... Even after some great turbulence where they separated for a while, the boyfriend pulled through for her. He went on a journey and eventually his lady fell back into his arms. What the lyrics from this song are saying: (Ferro) I Understand you now and why you weren't there for me all these years (too many) The girlfriend joins in to say that her feelings for him never changed. She knows she's forgiven for what's she's done. His lover is 10 yrs older than him and for the first time he's come to realize the epihany of their relationship. After she left the younger women he encountered were what he maybe wanted all along but his instinct told him that none of them could hold a candle to his sweetheart who was old enough to be a Mother and raise a family, which is what he's always wanted. When the two lovers are reunited they both have grey hair now. They endured. The boyfriend becomes a husband. She, his Wife for all time. This song is a reminder of their vows to each other. Two miracles took place: Began with her saying "I'm coming home again." (for good) And most of all she channeled him. as if to say I was with you when you felt like letting go (ending your life) but you endured because I'm part of you. When you were in hell my love protected you when you wanted to self-destruct. You belong to me dear, if you wanted to go and kill yourself (god forbid) you need my permission! |

Good comments to all but do you FEEL this song at all? There's more though. For those who've been in relationships it emphasizes a strong feeling to be desired that many happy couples seek. There's this balance that when put in place, two people will be together forever. When something threatens that balance, decisions will not always come easy. Separation is the last thing anybody wants. Apply that situation to a man who's engaged to a terrific Woman he could call his soulmate and wants to be with for the rest of his life. Unfortuately he has a run in with the law. His stupidity cost him months of his life behind bars. He misses his lover deeply but lost touch with her along the way. His chances of being released aren't very good so he has an important decision to make: And what he does next is not so much for himself as it is for his fiancee. And it isn't that hard, believe it or not. After the hell he's been through the thought of being being in the presence of other men makes his stomach turn. So he goes AWOL, away from Probation, ignoring everybody and everything. He must get to his sweetheart. He has to know for sure if she's gone from his life. If he were to play by the rules, it would drive him mad. He would die a thousand deaths if he could not be with the one he loved. I'm talking about pure torture. And don't even quote the bible to him. His conscience wouldn't allow it. He decides what's done is done and for the greater good of the two becoming one. He doesn't want to think anymore. Even as he was locked up he had to cast his frustration aside and see the bigger picture. She was his reason to live. What has jail done to him? Despite the immoral conditions he experienced he had to hold on. He didn't deserve this cruelty. He is soon rewarded for his efforts to dodge the law. In a future unforeseen by him, he is reunited with his lover a little before midnight one night and when they embrace his past is forgotten. It almost seems unreal to him. To turn himself in at that point would be unthinkable. He owes no higher power any gratitude for this second chance. No prophet came to him in a vision telling him to go on living, that his lover never strayed from him. Never gave him a date and time he would be having a conversation with her over the phone. All he had was a pinch of hope. |

At first listen might suggest he's copying Britney Spears LOL. It's definately her style. So far, the lyrics suggest that he was part of an organization, preferrably a non-profit. He was volunteering with them and they kicked him out. It didn't upset him one bit. He was always better than that group-he just didn't know it. He is an eccentric individual and everybody wants to criticize him for that. His response: SO He refuses to wake up and conform. Ultimately, He's his own person. |

| Lacuna Coil – Humane Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Alright, so there are few possibilities out there what Humane actually represents as a whole. Here's yet another addition, which might sound like nonsense at first but it will strike a hidden meaning or two when examined at length: Two lovers have been apart some odds months. They split up because of changes and circumstances neither saw coming. There was an interruption, let's say for a time. The dude was trapped in a dark world against his will and she could no longer comfort him. Separated by fate and all. So, he gets this courage to break free and tries to locate her. The problem is he's not equipped to do so...no phone, no idea where she might be, so he finds refuge from his feelings in his Internet. He listens to all the music he missed out on, all the new releases and such. He looks at online street view maps pinpointing the apartment where his lover stayed last and wished she were still there. To him, not seeing or hearing from her is like a failed internet connection. Somewhere along the line the plug was pulled on their relationship. She reflected sadly that he abandoned her, that it was a choice he made but not so-he was in hell all that time. Now it was up to him to save what they had together. As you already know, a red x over a minutely sized computer icon means no connection=no play. He was offline in that manner. The same technology applies to the heart monitor. a single flat line means you're gone and so a vibrant pattern could best way to describe this reconciliation about to happen. Like something being reborn. In a dreamlike state he sees himself clicking on a program titled "My relationships" Upon clicking it there's an icon of his lover's face shaded in grey, therefore unclickable. So days later, period of time after being freed from hell, he somehow is able to contact her by phone by calling her new phone number. That's when the red x disappears. His lover's display icon is filled with a rainbow of color, graphically outlining her feature perfectly. So when he clicks on it this time, an hourglass appears. A sort of portal opens up and in seconds he's taken to her profile with endless options. And the best part of all is that it's really her. Humane serves as like the opening sequence of what to come. The lovers call each other daily. He does her small favors while she's away still and she praises him. The long-distance relationship becomes much shorter. Here you have the ideal "awakening a lost love" theme. |

| If you've ever heard of this company called CleanSlate then you can easily connect it with a music video using this song. FYI, CleanSlate is a neighborhood beautification business in other words picking up litter from the streets and bagging it, not as a job, rather an internship. It's like you're in a bad mood while pushing your garbage can on your route as you're collecting trash. You're wearing your bright green polo and grey dickies and you sure ain't smiling. It's 96 degrees outside, so you don't make eye contact with passerby for that matter. you just want to pace yourself until break time then tough it out til' quitting time. The opening riff states plainly "Here comes the garbage collecter,"... see how the rest of the video comes together? The weather, the look on the intern's face all sweaty, looking beat down, wheras most interns smile and wave: you got to, you're out in public and the shopkeeper can see you blocks away from your neon green shirt. When you think about it the whole things pretty sad...the very idea of picking up garbage...what's next? butt There are actual jobs out there, people. And there's this thing called an application. Come on! | |

Right off the bat you know J Davis is talking about the homeless, for they have no faces. It's only logical that they exist in a world parallel to those well above the poverty line. He describes things that are out of a poor person's reach, unattainable in most cases, it hangs above to those who cannot hold their head up anymore. those feeling hopeless in their situation. It's true that greed is the reality out there, combined with the all the stealing and cheating the world is not a safe place for those who seek shelter. It is possible not to see the impoverished anymore when you pass them on the street because of two reasons: a) low importance b) strangers that don't serve a purpose. When he mentions feeding on what's mine is certain privileges or rights society wants to take away, like telling you where to smoke or drink. It's illustrated here that many homeless are trapped in their lives-God knows why. |

| Cradle of Filth – Nymphetamine Fix Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| If you've ever been homeless then this is a song that speaks to you in the sense that you're going through a painful time in your life and you can easily imagine what a soul feels like: cold, without feeling or caring for much. When it comes to the part about loneliness it's a natural condition of homelessness-to be without friends or any support. Like, If you had good friends to turn to, they wouldn't let you be homeless. The imagery you get is that it's below zero, freezing weather outside and you're roaming the streets looking for a place to squat for the night. Think of the less fortunate this season. And pray for them. | |
| Lacuna Coil – Unspoken Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The best way to interpret the meaning is to have imagery. Suppose you wanted to create a music video using this song. There would likely be a situation behind it. The best example would be a disagreement suppose between a man and his lover that involves his family. First off, she was not being honest with him and that fact is what sparked the whole ordeal. For some reason, he wanted to talk to his lover about something that was on his mind-a serious matter that he felt he should discuss with her face-to-face, not over the phone as they usually did. It was important for her to read his words and follow the urgency in his facial expression all for the purpose of clarity. So he visits the house of his mother-in-law where his lover also stays. The mother-in-law lies to him saying his lover is away when in reality she is there avoiding him for an unknown reason. So after his mother-in-law tells him to go away, he does so the saunters slowly back towards the door where upon eavesdropping he can hear an exchange between his lover and mother-in-law discussing him. He reels in horror. So after going away from the house he calls his lover to inform her that he knew of her presence at the house and heard her voice, yet she kept denying it. Later that morning, he stops by the house again this time bringing the landlord to intervene syaing to him. My lover is avoiding me and my mother-in-law covered for her as if trying to keep her away from me. I've done nothing wrong. So the mother-in-law opens her door to speak with the landlord. About a minute later, the man comes bursting through, uninvited wanting to see the guilt on his lover's face-hiding herself away like that. The mother-in-law shrieks and his lover comes storming out of the bathroom yelling and swearing at him. And the unusual thing about the whole incident is that this couple don't have problems like that. They are very kind and loving toward each other. Yet out of the blue, a heated display of crossing lines or privacy erupted. Any ideas on the rest of the video? |

| Lacuna Coil – Aeon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| There's definately relationship material on this brief track. Subtle, yet coolly defined. So there's two lovers who meet for the first time and shortly afterwards split up because of minor difficulties, then are reunited awhile later. The male was confused at some point and after sharing his money with her is left without much hope of sustaining the relationship. it's one of those "I can barely afford to have a cup of coffee with my girlfriend" situation. He knows that without money in his pocket he's a scared, pitiful man who might steal to survive. As opposed to earlier in the game when he gave her his phone number and catered to her every need, no matter the expense. Like in the middle of the song, if you listen very carefully you can hear time passing-from the moment the lovers split up until they got back together. That's what it sounds like it, maybe in terms of weeks, but not much more. On the day they got reunited the man was on his way to see her because she was in his thoughts, also because he had money again. He ran into her, which was a nice surprise for him. This was not mere coincidence. They were destined to be together | |
| Disturbed – Inside the Fire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| After hearing this track it would be only fitting to include it as the theme for the United States Marine Corp. The Navy has Godsmack's awake. I have a feeling kids are going to be seeing a commercial with ITF as the background music in the near future. It would be awesome. Being engaged in combat is the same as being inside the fire-no doubt. The are many "lost souls" out there who need to do something with themselves. A good place to start is to enlist with a branch of the armed forces. Young individuals who need discipline. Release your life to serve your country! What are we waiting for? | |

| After hearing this track after much consideration I declare this to be like the enlistment theme to the United States Marine Corps. The Navy has Godsmack's awake, and I have a feeling a lot of kids are going to be seeing a USMC commercial with ITF playing as background music in the near future. It would be awesome. To go into combat is the same as going inside the fire-no doubt. So many "lost souls" out there need to do something with themselves. Young Individuals who need discipline. | Team Sleep – Ataraxia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Here’s my take, sort of unique you can call it. It’s about a crush a man has on one of his co-workers. They work at a cosmetics plant in the mechanical assembly area as replenishers. She’s one of the few girls who catches his eye and he’s dying to impress her. It’s been awhile since he’s had a crush on any female, especially from previous jobs. “She’s the one”. Unfortunately their encounter is short-lived as after a week he’s laid off from his temporary position. Will the two ever cross paths again? | |
| Lacuna Coil – Not Enough Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Just creative thinking but has potential to border on the idea of suicide mentioned before. So there’s this man, who after being released from jail after several months goes to look for his lover, even though he made up his mind that she didn’t love him because she never visited him and not a single conversation was exchanged between them while he was locked up. For some reason her number was cut off. He comes to her house only to find out she had left town. She waited for him while he was incarcerated but to no avail. Only it never occurred to her that he was suffering. So she’s thousands of miles away. No phone number or address is known. Then one day somehow the dude is able to buy a phone. That results in his lover’s family directing him to where she is. He is given a new phone number. He has contact! After a short time, the lovers connect via phone. He goes live with her and all is well. After disappearing from his life so it seemed, he learned that he should have more faith in her because she waited for him so that’s a huge deal to him, it means their relationship is indestructible. All that happened was that it hit a bump, now it’s back on course. It’s not enough to hear her voice, he wants to touch her so he has to wait for her to come back. | |

Well, The other posts seem well-thought out, interesting ones. Here’s another description to chew on. Tell me if you follow: There’s this young dude, early twenties who for some reason isn’t happy with himself. Shy, kind of loner type whose had few good friends in high school. He prefers the company of Women mostly. He’s somewhat of a social-climber. A TIMID social-climber because he doesn’t really stand out, just kind of goes with the flow. Then comes along the popular girl who takes notice of him. Other chicks start to notice him…you get the idea. He feels comfortable with himself and starts asking girls to take pictures with him. In some twisted way, that’s what defines him. If you were to see the girls he takes pictures with you’d say to yourself ," the man obviously has good taste." Scratching beneath the surface there’s something else, a deeper motive for his behavior. This is how he wants to be remembered. He feels that memories are a huge part of who we are. Photos do just that. They can tell a lot about who a person is long after they die. He sure doesn’t want to be remembered as a loner. Now what the lyrics in the song suggest that if he were to lose these pictures years of his life would be gone-the proof of his existence lie in those pictures. He might as well be a dead man because nobody would remember his name. |

| Lacuna Coil – Wide Awake Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The idea behind this song can easily relate to being incarcerated for like months, then being released into society. It's like your whole outlook on life has changed dramatically because you know you barely survived that experience. There were times you dreamt of being outside only to wake up in hell. The message this song conveys is that your being set free is a gift. The thing you did to get locked up -whatever it may be was a rebellious act-it was inside of you at the time. A suicidal thought would indicate giving up for sure. Knowing your limits is key to reforming your attitude and not to merely exist without purpose. Steering clear of temptation, most importantly to know you can never be above the law 100% of the time. "Like you" can refer to a loved one you've been away from for so long, now that you're together again you're equal to that person now-your humanity is intact. Before, you were broken. if so, you can be fixed. | |
