so yea, def another amazing string cheese song, but this is the first time i actually read the lyrics rather than sing along with them. maybe it's just appropriate to my life now, but i think the within the song there is a verse for every moment or situation in life.
i just ended a two year, live together, relationship that took my home, my graduation date, and my damn dog. i couldn't be with her and still be free.
i moved into a friends mother's house rent free (I lost my security deposit and 1/2 a months rent) to finish college this semester (i get financial aid). my friend started dating a girl and i got 2 weeks notice to vacate with no job. dropped my classes with a B average. I felt denied. The air got thick and my hands are still tied; i cried the other day for the first time in years. The rising tide is the future and mine is looking pretty rough. My life sure doesn't feel like a dream and i'm really starting to wonder if i can get what i want and still come clean.
Having said all that i think the song just describes life at the core. sometimes it's a dream, sometimes it's a struggle, but the future is going to come regardless. Be true to yourself and don't spend your life alone. and make sure the juice is worth the squeeze. |

besides the slappin da bass, a new meaning to this song came to me at moe.down this year: every festival i go to, whatever meat i have left is always disgusting by sunday. i'm usually pretty spun out by sunday morning, so when i'm digging through my dingy, watery, bloody cooler lookin for something to eat, i tend to find meat. dirty, disgusting meat. MEAT!!!! maybe..... |

look guys, there is no need for the bickering. i fuckin love this band and find new and deeper meanings in all their songs everytime i see them. yes rob is afraid of flying. yes there are blantent weed references in this song and many other moe. songs(sorry MoeIsSweet, but roll me a bone means one thing and one thing alone). with all this fighting the second verse of the song completely gets overlooked where i feel that even with all their successes rob wonders whether he is happy with this life he has chosen (he's recently divorced btw, and yes i know this song was written a decade ago.) The bottom line is that moe. doesn't care about people smoking weed or smoking weed themselves; they just care about getting people off with their talents. and to be honest, "MoeIsSweet", they probably wouldn't like how you blacked out on some forum meant for positive discussion and started calling people retards. they also probably wouldn't like how you misspelt their name. IT'S moe. NOT Moe douche. you are not sweet.... |
