| The Jesus and Mary Chain – Upside Down Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| It's about performing oral sex on a reckless girl you don't care about. It can't be about drugs because Will Reid never cared much about them. He only took speed once and hated it. Well, he did go through a marijuana phase, though, but I don't see how this song would relate to weed. | |

| Beck copies this song in his Midnight Vultures album. Search for ''Beautiful Way''. It's the same song. | |
| Syd Barrett – She Took A Long Cold Look Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Well, it may be just me, but I think most of his solo work is about being rejected by Pink Floyd. '''She took a long cold look at me and smiled and gazed all over my arm'' Pink Floyd not taking him serious because they saw him as a junkie. ''she loves to see me get down to ground she hasn't time just to be with me'' PF likes when he's on the stage being a rockstar, but they don't want him anymore, since he's ''going mad'' and refuses to play outside England. '''her face between all she means to be to be extreme, just to be extreme'' PF just wants to be sucessful and edgy, they don't really care about the psychodelic movement, they just wants to get ''status''. ''a broken pier on the wavy sea she wonders why for all she wants to see... But I got up and I stomped around and hid the piece where the trees touch the ground...'' Hm, I don't really know about that one. ''The end of truth that lay out the time spent lazing here on a painting dream a mile or more in a foreign clime to see farther inside of me. And looking high up into the sky I breathe as the water streams over me..'' It's about taking time to be with himself, and, of course, getting high, trying to forget about them. Or it could a love song. |

| Hm, I think this song is about Pink Floyd, and not about a girl, as it seems. | |
| Syd Barrett – No Good Trying Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song also could be about Pink Foyd without him. ''It's no good trying to place your hand where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me'' It's no use trying to hide, I know you don't miss me. I know that you'll move on without me. ''yes I can tell that you can't be what you pretend'' This might be about Roger Waters. I saw on him on TV saying he didn't really get about the psychodelic movement, he just wanted to be a big rockstar driving nice cars and sleeping with lots of girls. ''and you're rocking me backwards'' Pretty self-explanatory. ''and you're rocking towards the red and yellow mane of a stallion horse.'' Don't really get this part...LSD? ''It's no good trying to hold your love where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me'' It's no use trying to walk away from me, I know that you still like me, or that you care about me. ''the caterpillar hood won't cover the head of you know you should be home in bed.'' This could be: I know you since you were a child, all that pose won't cover who you really are. 'It's no good holding your sequin fan where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me'' It's no use trying to hide all your sucess. Syd didn't want to be a big rockstar and he hated all this wonder-band stuff, but roger and the other guys didn't. Roger said on an interview that Syd got very suspicious when they started getting famous, and he got all ''Wait a minute, wasn't that what you wanted? We wanted to be rockstars!'' 'yes you're spinning around and around in a car with electric lights flashing very fast...'' This is may be a reference to the big cars Roger daydreamed about driving, and the lights could be a reference to Pink Floyd early gigs, when they would flash lights all over the stage. I don't know why, but this song sounds so spiteful. Well, that's just my two cents. |

| Blur – Come Together Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
These lyrics seem so simple, still, I haven't figured it all out yet. He does say "I'd do anything for you', but it doesn't sound like he's in love at all. And when he says "so why don't we come together", it feels like he's asking himself, and not her. Maybe he's just out from a relationship and he's asking himself why it didn't work. Or he's regretful and wants her back, but, as said, he'a not in love. He just feels guilty and tries to blame her (then the "I'd do anything..." line would fit). It's matter of pride, not love. This also could be an ironic song, like: I treat you so bad, so why don't we come together? |

| Blur – High Cool Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| He doesn't like the girl he's with. He hates her ways and he doesn't take her seriously, bust he's not asking her to change, because it's just an inbetween-girls relatipnship. He doesn't want it to last. He's just with her because he's got no one to be with. The only thing I don't really get is the title. I think he's making fun of himself, like "you think you're cool because you mistreat her''. Or maybe he just really thinks he's cool, but that doesn't sound like Damon at all. | |
| Pink Floyd – Bike Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I totally disagree with Roger ("this is the closest thing to love Syd ever had".). I think this song is about what love SHOULD be. It's simple and kind of innocent. It's not about diamond rings, expensive jeans, big houses and stuff. It's about simple things, like bikes and cloaks. It's about giving all that you have to the beloved one, even that it's not much. And of course there's sex, but not in a dirty way, like sex for sex. Sex, in this song, is seen from an innocent perspective (still, not CHILDISH). Sex is a way to show how you feel, a way to be close to the person you love, not just lust, not just pleasure. | |
