This is probably my favorite track from Blinking Lights. Among the most optimistic works E has ever written. It really fits, the album is all about really living.
A shame that the incredible difficulty in getting the album published sent him into deep depression again... |

"I've got a sad-hearted feeling To harm" is more like my everyday thought process. The way people behave, in their circles, every day, and you can't be a part of it. You despise the way people act and behave, but you want so much to be a part of it, and you can't, so you just want to slap someone out of it. Then you wouldn't have to be alone on the outside any more. |

Reading the autobiography, this song is pretty explicit in it's detail. It's a previous suicide attempt, and not the one that killed her. Only her boyfriend on the phone is called Robert. Probably to conceal identity, or even artistic freedom; Walter sounds better anyway. |

I think it is a good interpretation of what a hidden track usually composes of; often nonsensical and meaningless, throwaway songs by the artist that they don't much care for. But they are always popular and thought to be good simply because they're obscure and secret. |
