The Beatles – You've Got to Hide Your Love Away Lyrics 16 years ago
John Lennon is awesome, one of The Beatles best songs. Basically he's saying your a fool to hide your love away even if it ends up breaking your heart. It would be sad for a person to go through life and not experience love. That's why he sings "Gather round all you clowns, let me hear you say, hey, you"ve got hide your love away"; he calls them clowns because he understood that love is worth it, even if it ends up turning bad.

The Beatles – Julia Lyrics 16 years ago
this is a truely great song; I can only think of two things to say about this song. John Lennon sees his mother in everything because she is always at the forefront of his mind and or he believes that when she died she became part of everything, one with God.

The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics 16 years ago
This is a john Lennon Masterpiece! He describes many things in his unique way about the world we live in, and sings "I'm crying", he was very aware of the corruption and gruesome acts of the world. "I am the eggman, they are the eggman, I am the walrus" It's like he says at the beginning of the song, "I am he
as you are he, as you are me, and we are all together" He's saying were all in this together; The part where he says "I am the walrus" is John saying I am going to try and do something about it. He is going to sacrifice everything and become a leader in the fight against the war and the system. I urge you to watch the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum". John Lennon was very aware of what's going on.

The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby Lyrics 16 years ago
The songs initial concept was Paul's, thats why he sings it, but they wrote it together and it developed into a John song. John's influence definitely took over as the song progressed. The great quality of lyrics in the song are very rare with Paul McCartney and common with John Lennon; check out their lyrics in there solo careers.

I urge you to watch the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum" John was very aware of what's going on.

Paul McCartney – Magneto and Titanium Man Lyrics 16 years ago
Meaningless! This song like many of Paul's will be forgotten and will never stand up to the test of time. The only reason I could think of that might make someone notice this song in the future would be the fact that Paul was a former Beatles member; but you wouldn't of believed it by listening to this song.

Paul McCartney – Too Many People Lyrics 16 years ago
John Lennon did not break up the Beatles, Paul did. John just wanted to go out on his own for awhile, he would have still contributed to the Beatles future albums but for awhile they would have been songs mainly recorded with other people. John was bored with the Beatles but he would not have broke the band up, he just wanted some time away. Paul was furious that John was traveling about and living and writing without him so he broke up the Beatles; sure they were having problems but time would have probably healed that, Paul should have held on and the band would have continued. Paul started treating the other band members like hired hands, he was very conceited and treated Ringo like crap for years. Paul also started acting and hanging out with people they considered "straights" and despised since they were young; the other band members seen this as he was selling out. Paul new what John Lennon did for the band and he needed John to help make his songs better and more meaningful. As we all know now, Paul's ability to write a good meaningful song that could really touch people was rare but with John Lennon it was common.

John Lennon – It's So Hard Lyrics 16 years ago
Life for most people is a rat race, the system is set up to steal wealth from the common people and transfer it to the international bankers ( watch the video's "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum") but you gotta keep going, our basic instinct to survive; we also have the need to feel to love and when its good it can be very good, but we all feel like giving up at times. Some people do give up and become homeless, commit suicide, or become a burden (like a dependent) to their family or friends. This song seems simple on the surface but it is reaches deep down into the core of the system we live in. And yes you do need to keep your woman satisfied. Again, I urge you to watch the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum".

John Lennon – Scared Lyrics 16 years ago
"I'm scared, so scared, as the years roll away and the price that I paid, and the straws slip away" I Think he's pointing out that the world is a scary place (corruption, greed, lust, murder, etc.) and it seems no matter how hard we work we can't get ahead and as we get older it seems that our options become fewer and fewer, the world seems to chew people up and spit them out; and there is always war, war, war. (watch the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum")

"You don't have to suffer, it is what it is" We need to do something about it, we don't have to take it!!! As individuals or collectively we the people we need to stand up and hold our politicians accountable. "no bell, book or candle can get you out of this" You won't be saved by the bell, you may be able to temporarily escape by reading a book or going to a movie, etc., no ones going to light the way, we will still have to face reality; its up to us each one of us. "Oh no" Thats what you say if we don't step up and make it right and the shit continues to hit the fan.

"I'm scarred, I'm scarred, everyday of my life I just manage to survive, I just want to stay alive" As we struggle through our lives we continually get scarred, a divorce, the loss of a loved one, the scars of being an economic slave and trying to meet the demands of the system. We struggle to survive, but we don't want to just survive we want to feel alive, that feeling you had when you were young (Remember) before you grew up and became an economic slave. (Again, I urge you to watch the videos "Money Masters and "Zeitgeist Addendum")

"You don't have to worry, in heaven or hell, just dance to the music you do it so well" Don't worry, whether you think your doing great or just scraping by, keep being an economic slave a puppet on strings, you've been doing it so well, all your life so far. I believe this a a sarcastic verse intended to say "wake up"

I think the last two verses are more personal, His "Hatred" for the system and how it steals wealth from the working class(and thats what makes John Lennon a Working Class Hero, he fought for us) and his jealousy if not kept under control could be fatal. Remember the F.B.I. was following John and kept a file on him because of his fight for the common people against the war and against the system, also the stress and personal sacrifice he made on our behalf; And jealousy could lead to a divorce and a broken heart which many of us know can make you wish you were dead.

The last verse says to me he's getting tired of the fight and sometimes he feels he's all alone in the fight against the system and the war, even though he wasn't alone in this fight, sometimes it can feel like your alone especially when the F.B.I starts watching your every move; And at that point in his life he traveled all over fighting for us against the war and the system, he truly was "like a rolling stone" no place to call home.

John Lennon – Remember Lyrics 16 years ago
The song basically describes the hypocrisy of life for many people, when were small you get pampered, you have Santa Clause, the Easter bunny, Disneyland, etc. everything seems like utopia and then you grow up and wham, you get hit with reality and find out the world in many ways is the complete opposite.

"The hero was never hung" It all seems to work out right. "The man leaves you empty handed" We're all working for nothing, society takes all you work for and more. (check out the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum")

"When you were young people seemed so tall, always had their way" And then when you grow up you realize it was fantasy and they are only playing a part which is basically an economic slave. (again, I urge you to watch the videos "Money Masters" and "Zeitgeist Addendum"

"No no, remember the fifth of November" Like mentioned above a reference to Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot that was foiled. In other words, No, NO, we don't have to accept this hypocrisy, we need to stand up as individuals (like he did) or as "We The People" and do something about it even if it means sacrifice; if not for ourselves, do it for you kids and grandkids. (future generations)

John Lennon – Jealous Guy Lyrics 16 years ago
It's about Paul McCartney.

From Playboy Magazine 1985, Paul McCartney interview.
"It was a weird time. The people who were managing us were whispering in our ears and trying to turn us against each other, and in the end, I think John had some tough breaks. He used to say, 'Everyone is on the McCartney bandwagon.' He wrote 'I'm Just a Jealous Guy,' and he said that the song was about me."

I don't believe John Lennon told Paul this, Paul is totally full of himself. He's jealous of John, can't stand that John was able to connect with people in a way he can't. comming up with great lyrics was rare with Paul and common with john, "Band On The Run", "Jet", enough said.

John Lennon – Happy X-Mas (War Is Over) Lyrics 16 years ago
The version of this song in the box set is my favorite Christmas song. It doesn't have the "war is over if you want it, war is over now" chant until the very end of the song; much better version, I don't like the chant all through the song like in the original released version, although it's alright, it's good, I just like the alternate version much better, check it out.

John Lennon – Working Class Hero Lyrics 16 years ago
The meaning of "A working class hero is something to be" is referring to a person who tries to help the working class. John Lennon in his own way and very publicly fought for and wrote songs for the working class people, that's why he sings "If you want to be a hero well just follow me". If you want to be a working class hero you need to fight for the rights of working class people, very simple. Like John sings in "Power To The People" "A million workers working for nothing, you better give 'em what they really own"
