This song is from the late 70's and is about a teenager misbehaving and ignoring his parents rules while running around smoking pot and listening to rock music. Have you seen JRs grades? Because the kids grades have plunged now that he is partying all the time.
The Part about you could have at least faked it boy, His parents things he hates them and they are saying you could have at least acted like you loved us even if you didn't and they eventually become happy to see him fail. |

First the song is not about playing with yourself.
The song is about being out buzzing likely on Coke and then coming down and finding yourself with no one left around and unable to sleep and having a hard time with what you think of yourself. Then going right back out and doing it again because you don't want to sit at home watching the tube. It is about the habit of partying and crashing.

This was a song about how the media and the bible belt were completely misunderstanding him and blowing it way the F#$^ out of proportion. He was doing nothing more then attempting to put on a stage show that incorporated lots of stuff from horror movies and what not, something like a horror concert and the media and people knowing nothing of him made him out to be some sort of devil worshiper without even realizing he was actually brought up with a strong Christian background and yeah he might have been getting a little wild, he really was a fairly nice guy, not the character they saw on stage. |

The Performer lives for the show and in AC's Case if you think about the lyrics in Escape you will see these tie together and it is about him being anxious to get on stage and become AC rather then the troubled man he had been off stage. |

Andrick pretty much got it, with one exception and that is that he is accusing his friends of know what type of girl she was even before she was his girl.

How many people cried implies he wasn't the first to fall for her game just another in a long line and the song takes the tone of my friends should have warned me, but we all know how well that goes over telling a friend the girl he is into is a slut and user, they never take that well and can often wreck a friendship so best to look the other way. |
