Remember the Y2K panic? Run for the cover, Millennium's here Bearing the standard of confusion and fear This song was written in 1977 - How did Kerry foresee that! |

WHY do people think all the Stone's songs are about heroin!!! This is plain and simple, the Stone's version of a ballad, and its about Antebellum slavery and a black girl used sexually. Keith Richards has stated that he did not write about recreational drug use. Any of their songs about drugs are clearly recognized and are about abuse. |

Sorry to crush some bubbles here, but Keith Richards has stated that he never wrote lyrics about recreational drug use. People seem to want to interpret all their songs as something about heroin. In fact the only times they did sing about drugs were about abuse (ref: Sister Morphine, Mother's Little Helper). It was largely Vietnam that inspired this song according to interviews with Richards and Jagger, but also took into account some natural disasters happening worldwide at the time. |

| Kansas – Icarus II Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song was a dedication in general to World War II pilots, in specific it was inspired by General Frederick Castle, posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. I suspect its called Icarus II only because both Icarus's are about flying. | |
| Kansas – Portrait (He Knew) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It's well known among us Kansas fanatics that this song is about Albert Einstein. Fact, from the band itself. When Kerry started his career in Christian music about 5 years later, he redid this song to be about Jesus. Also note that it was during the making of this album (Point of Know Return) that Kerry began to discover his present religious beliefs, but was not at that time a deeply religous man. Spiritual yes, deeply religious, no. |
