I have t disagree with Major Valor here, I think this is one of the best love songs JAMC ever did. He didnt think he loved the girl a the start probably just thought of her as a good friend. I find this song really hard to get my head around, like other JAMC songs i really wanna make a sexual refference, he shouts 'coming' in most lines of the chorus at least once and even fades out with keep on coming... As a side note, "it's just the ay you tried to hold me down" is the best line in any song i think!:P |

I was a bit gutted after going on this website for the lyrics. i usually (try to) work out the lyrics for myself. My idea of what they were messes up the meaning so much:S I never thought that this day would ever come When your looks and your touch just struck me dumb Oh and it's plain to see on this day You were something above of this cool sunny day. It's so hard not to feel ashamed Of the loving living games we play Each day And i was stuck in a shack Down the back of the sea Oh and I was alive and alone Inside a sick sick dream Oh is it me Is it me that feels so weak? I cannot deceive but I find it hard to speak The hardest walk you could ever take Is the walk you take from me To be, to see. I'd walk Oh honey I'll talk I don't want you to want me I don't want you to leave me I don't want you to leave me I don't want you to leave me I don't want you to leave me I know these AREN'T the actual lyrics but i was just tryign to make the point that JAMC rock for the fact that whatever you think the lyrics are. IT's always gonna be an awesome song! oh, and anyone who hasnt bought the power of negative thinking boxset yet... Shame on you!:P |

Can I start by having a bit of a rant? Can people stop slandering people for relating this song to suicide and epilepsy? It's not difficult to see how they'd come to such a conclusion and if you don’t have a better idea on what the song means then I’d suggest you be quite to avoid looking arrogant and closed minded. It was suggested somewhere (and I believe it to be true) that this (as well as a lot of the songs on unknown pleasures) are Curtis' social commentary on the working industrial state he found himself drowning in. Childish dreams for all of us slowly close in until we loose all hope of them coming true, I think Curtis was talking about that hope when he said "don't ever fade away" but then, we can't exactly ask him now can we... You’re more than welcome to point out my flaws as long as you’ve got a counter-argument. |
