I used to stop the song around the five minute mark because I thought they ruined the song, but now I think they're my favourite part. I agree with nechronius' interpretation. I think this is a general concept of evil. The Harvester of Sorrow harvesting all these methods of causing sorrow: rape and abortion (Been Cheated of My Youth), drunken/drugged up rages (Drink up Shoot in Let the Beatings Begin)... This song is incredible. This is Enter Sandman, but far, far sicker and crueller. Harvester rivals Raining Blood for Most Evil Riff, in my opinion. |

About the "Exodus" story. I love this cover, it's amazing. I like the vocals on this one better. I love James' voice, but it sounded like shit on Ride the Lightning. Not too happy that the guitars don't have as much bite, but this cover is still almost as good as the original. And this coming from someone who really really despises metalcore bands... |

This song is clearly about drug abuse. "Need...More and more Tainted misery" When one abuses drugs, one feels like one needs 'more and more'. But I don't think it's JUST about drug abuse... I think it's about being a rock/metal star and the drug abuse that almost always comes with the job. It's a tribute to those who didn't escape it like Metallica. "Choke...Asphyxia Snuff reality" Reminds me of the circumstances of Jimi Hendrix's death. |
