"I was raised up believing I was somehow unique Like a snowflake distinct among snowflakes, unique in each way you can see" So strong. I love these lines! Love the softness in the singers voice going with the decent guitarplay, too. Just. So. Awesome. |

| Another idea based on infinityontrialon's interpretation is, that he is not about to kill himself, but other people. Moon, wind, clouds, etc. are aliases for hostages he has taken which he kills. In the end everyone is dead but him and so he lays down his gun after that. | |

Thanks for your thoughts. The last "yes" of the rider is the turning point then, they all convinced him not to do it. It is the yes he gives to his life from now on. |

| I agree on that. But it can surely be transfered to a serious dispute between two people... | |

I have a special interpretation: I think this song is about the feelings, sorrows and thoughts of a father-to-be. "You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see" > Because the young lives from it's mothers body "But I will hold on hope And I won't let you choke On the noose around your neck" > He is going to take responsibility about his child and to care for it. "And I'll find strength in pain And I will change my ways I'll know my name as it's called again" > He has to grow up now "Cause I have other things to fill my time You take what is yours and I'll take mine Now let me at the truth Which will refresh my broken mind" > He is a bit undecided unsure about how the situation is going to change now. And he won't give up some things he likes to do. "So come out of your cave walking on your hands And see the world hanging upside down You can understand dependence When you know the maker's land" > These lines describe the birth of the child "So make your siren's call And sing all you want I will not hear what you have to say Cause I need freedom now And I need to know how To live my life as it's meant to be" > Children have to scream directly after birth. He will not hear this because he is so much occupied with his many thoughts in this moment, when everything is changing. I'm very interested in what you think about it! |

| I believe this song is about exploring his homosexualty and the confusion of discovering this feelings... Having problems with someone who can't accept it, feeling bad about it on the one hand (because of the "hurting himself"-line) but on the other hand also enjoying it and being pride. | |
