Guys lets not forget that Gwen aborted three children before Kingston (back when she was dating Kurt Cobain), and that this song is in many ways about the horror and shame of those three consecutive abortions. Gwen has even made several comments indicating this (most notably in her interview with Umberto Eco, which can be found in most books on Stefani, the best probably being "A Thousand Ways to Say...", 2002, Acultured Press). |

This song is about a boy who is Japanese and also who left Aneka who is also a pop star-singer who is singing the song. (Very confusing!) A lot of people think this song is about drugs (Japanese Boy was drug-seller slang for a drug also known as very powerful cocaine in the eighties). Aneka is and was also from Scotland, which means that she spent a lot of time in nature, which also probably influenced this song. |
