To me this song is very simple. It is about spending an entire summer gaming indoors. It is about losing your friends and people close to you because you're too busy playing some sort of game, an MMORPG or whatever. The narrator feels empty and alone and has lost touch with those who mean the most to him. I have experienced a "Summer in Abaddon" just like this before. I can sympathize with the narrator of the song because I know exactly what is going on. He feels disconnected as the game has taken over his life. He probably regrets the way he has spent his summer and uses it as a lesson to always remember to do more with his free time in the future. Very simple. |

This song is very simple and straightforward in my opinion, which is very surprising of Tim Kinsella. It is a song about jealousy and Tim perhaps being jealous of his lover's past/ex's/hookups and what not. |

This song is not about being gay, rape, gay rape, or whatever other bizarre ideas have been thrown out there. It is pretty simple once again. It has to do with a girl who either left or cheated on her boyfriend to be with this guy and then he possibly cheated on her or their relationship went sour in some other way. Great lyrics. It is a bit obscure as to what his true feelings were towards her/her true feelings towards him, so that's why I cannot conclude if he cheated on her, if he decided he really didn't love her, felt like she didn't love him, etc.
