The man gives his interpretation of the failed relationship & then the woman gives hers. Initially, the man "paints" the woman as having "up & left" him, just like that. She is depicted by him as cold in how she chose to leave. From his perspective, he is innocent & blameless... However, off to one side, the woman "appears" in his painting to give her interpretation & suddenly, it isn't so one-sided after all. From her view, the man has been involved (emotionally or physically) with previous women from his past- which is something he had promised the woman would not happen. When he strayed, the woman became more & more distant, resulting in him blaming her for being upset at his infidelity. She eventually could see that he would never change this behaviour, so she left him... |

This song feels like someone who has been in a relationship that has become very one-sided and that she's lost herself in the process. She feels it's at an end and that her partner no longer is there for her for support- mainly emotional. She is pleading for him to realize before it's too late- but knows that it's over...and that it is she who must make the decision to end it. "Ohhh, is it ever going to change cause, I got tired of being here with...silence... " The song was never released as a single- it was used in the series "Roswell".
