one of the cure's best songs, should've been officially included on Faith (I have it placed after All Cats Are Grey because it fits really damn well right there)
It's about the book of the same name, but tbh I just like to think it's about some girl named charlotte |

well for some reason I always thought Lonesome Crowded West as some kind of concept album about like some troubled youth who runs away to go on a road trip or something
I think that "Teeth" is like about the reason he runs away is his girlfriend cheats on him or dumps him for someone else, and the man she leaves him for is the man with "teeth like god's shoeshine, who sparkles, shimmers, shines". He's just describing how much better the man is than him. "Another orange julius" he's trying to drink away the pain, "the malls are soon to be ghosts towns, well so long, farewell, goodbye" he's talking about how he's going to leave.
yeah pretty stupid but just a thought. |
