Fleetwood Mac – Like Crying Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I dont quite get why a woman couldnt help her, any thoughts? |
The Beatles – Rocky Raccoon Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think there's obviously a lot of dylanesque lyrics in this song, especially from his John Wesley Harding album released the year before and I would assume it is done knowingly. But whether done as a spoof or a tribute or just a joke I don't know, but I think it is all in good fun as such amazing musicians probably had a great deal of respect for eachother. There is a pretty good read on the subject here: http://www.morethings.com/music/beatles/rockyraccoon.html it also mentions simon/garfunkels dylan parody "A Simple Desultory Philippic" |
Bob Dylan – Subterranean Homesick Blues Lyrics | 14 years ago |
shouldnt it be "losers, cheaters, 6 time users"? |
Bob Dylan – Boots of Spanish Leather Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it is the girl who is traveling. his girlfriend suze rotolo left him and moved to italy and he started writing it when he traveled there only to find out she had traveled back to america also I dont believe Dylan had such a close minded wiev on the male/female roles in society to not being able to image a girl going off like that |
Bob Dylan – Visions of Johanna Lyrics | 14 years ago |

U2 – Your Blue Room Lyrics | 14 years ago |
well actually you are both right cause I think he has said it is about a conversation, "whether it is between a lover or your maker" (or something like that) |
The Velvet Underground – Sweet Sister Ray Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The Velvet Underground – Femme Fatale Lyrics | 14 years ago |
yes and edie sedgwick was once commited to a mental institution so that is even more proof for the fact it's about her |
The Rolling Stones – Sympathy for the Devil Lyrics | 14 years ago |
They played this on our graduation ceremony, which was a bit funny since, in sweden, those are often held in churches (although not on a religious note). I guess the ministers must have disliked it since it was shortened to "Rolling Stones - Sympathy" on the ceremony schedule. |
Bob Marley and the Wailers – No Woman No Cry Lyrics | 15 years ago |
havent read all the comment so what I say has probably been said but I see there are lots of people believing that the name of the song mean that if you dont have a women you will never feel bad, wich is not true. the line "no woman no cry" means "no woman , dont cry". He tells her not to cry and that everything is gonna be alright, only with a bit of incorrect grammar. |
