I am a huge lover of Keane and have seen them play twice at Sheffield; this is one of my favourite songs off the latest album; the song 'Lovers are Losing' is a negative and somewhat depressing song but I feel that the song reflects how couples react after they split up. This particular song talks about the person whom has been 'bumped' and still loves their ex; he feels lost that maybe that the World doesn't matter or care about him anymore and that maybe he had better not be on this Earth anymore. Whilst in this beautifully constructed lyrics; 'You take the pieces of the dreams that you have, Cause you don't like the way they seem to be going, You cut them up and spread them out on the floor' he tries to re-assemble his life together and move on, realising that there his still life in him. That's what I think anyway... |
