| Ride – Ox4 Lyrics

I read an article on "Going Blank Again" with contributions from the band members. They said this tune, "OX4," is about scoring dope in Oxford. What they meant by 'dope' was not specified, but if it is heroin, they did capture that feeling of being dopesick pretty well. |

definitely sarcastic, and the melody doesn't sound that sincere or sappy... it drenches kiss-off, especially that vocal delivery. CLASSIC |

This song fucking scared me. I was listening to it alone at night, and I mean it already sounded creepy in the beginning, but when Madonna yelled "What do you mean it's not in the computer?" it made me jump out of my seat. |

no no no. This song contains a quote from the book Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor. It seems to be about the same thing, religion, evil, good, blah blah blah |

| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics

I don't know why, but this song reminds me of the geologic time scale. The first portion represents the Precambrian part and some of the Paleozoic, and the first orchestral crescendo is the Permian extinction that killed off much of Earth's life. Then Paul's part shows the Jurassic and Triassic sections, Lennon's next verse the Cretaceous, and the second crescendo the second extinction that killed the dinosaurs. Then the final chord is the Cenozoic era. |

This seems to be one of Bruce's more personal songs. Every time I listen to it I get a chill - I don't know why, it's just such a sad song. |

| Wolf Parade – Kissing The Beehive Lyrics

this song is clearly about Moby Dick and transitively about cocaine. "a captain who is never denied" sounds like ahab. "fire in the hole!" is when they're killing the whale. Krug also says a metaphor: "kissing the beehive" means "railing coke" |

Even though Tracy has a job in civil service and plays golf (a classic example of a bureaucratic sport) he thinks this whole civilization thing is garbage and overrated and he proves it by stripping and bulldozing down his own house. i mean seriously, guy does not give a fuck |

Davies is like over-worrying his public appearance but then he sees that you shouldn't worry about what others think about you all the time because its not always about you cause he says in the last verse "no one cared..." and its kinda like a revelation then the song ends lol |

all about the rejection of supposed "society" finding ones more base "animal" instincts and living on a farm. BRILLIANT! |
