Simple; a guy likes this girl, and he's not completely sure if she likes him back. She is undecided, and he is growing impatient. He thinks he might be wasting his time pursuing and fantasizing about her. Unless she gives him a sign or makes up her mind, he might decide to move on to new things and new girls. This band is amazing, that's all I should have to say. |

I'm really surprised by how straightforward these lyrics are. It's just about a guy liking a girl that he is completely incompatible with. He lives a total slacker lifestyle, somking pot and going to the beach, of which she disapproves. She also "doesn't make friends for freindship's sake", which just means she isn't very friendly. He wishfully hopes that it will work out between them, mainly because he very attracted to her, probably sexually. He knows that it isn't going to work between them, but for the moment he's "happy just to watch her move." This is all sort of weird because I'm sort of in this same situation myself, and I'm stoned as well... sorta strange... Now, with that last part at the end, it sort of gets confusing. It seems to be completely unrelated from the rest of the song, only borrowing the form of the chorus. The lyrics could be taken literally, being about a hopeless illness someone is suffering. There is no real clue as to who is sick though, maybe just a different friend. I'm not really sure about that part. |
