| James Blake – Life Round Here Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
I think this song is about two people who care for one another, but due to circumstances or obstacles in their lives, it isn't possible for them to fully commit themselves to a deeper relationship. Perhaps every small step they take toward it is the "touchdown on a rainy day." Each time they meet (maybe periodically over time), they realize they are "never done," because of their inability to pursue more with one another. "Now we're back at square one..." |

| She & Him – Sentimental Heart Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
From the official website: Cried all night ‘til there was nothing more What use am I as a heap on the floor? Heaving devotion but it’s just no good Taking it hard just like you knew I would Old habits die hard When you’ve got When you’ve got a sentimental heart Piece of the puzzle you’re my missing part Oh, what can you do with a sentimental heart? Oh, what can you do with a sentimental heart? Cried all night ‘til there was nothing more What use am I as a heap on the floor? Heaving devotion but it’s just no good Taking it hard just like you knew I would Old habits die hard When you’ve got When you’ve got a sentimental heart Piece of the puzzle, I’m your missing part Oh, what can you do with a sentimental heart? Oh, what can you do with a sentimental heart? |

| Wolf Parade – I'll Believe in Anything Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Give me your eyes, I need sunshine Give me your eyes, I need sunshine Your blood, your bones, your voice, and your ghost We’ve both been A very brave Walk around with both legs Fight the, the scary day We both pulled the tricks out of our sleeves I’ll believe in anything and You’ll believe in anything I Said I’ll believe in anything and You’ll believe in anything If I could get the fire out from the wire I’d share a life and you’d share a life If I could take the fire out from the wire I’d share a life and you’d share a life If I could take the fire out from the wire I’d take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn I said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn And I could take another hit for you And I could take away the trips from you And I could take away the salt from your eyes Take away skin and salt in you And I could give you my apologies By handing over my neologies And I could take away your shaky knees And I could give you all the olive trees And look at the trees and look at my face and look at a place far away from here So give me your eyes, I need sunshine Give me your eyes, I need sunshine Your blood, your bones, your voice, and your ghost We’ve both been very brave Walk around with both legs Fight the, the scary day We both pulled the tricks out of our sleeves But I’ll believe in anything and You’ll believe in anything If I could take the fire out from the wire I’d share a life and you’d share a life If I could take the fire out from the wire I’d share a life and you’d share a life If I could take the fire out from the wire I’d take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn I said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn I said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn either way About your blood, your bones, your voice, and your ghost Because nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn either way You know I’ll believe in anything and You’ll believe in anything Because nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn either way (credit to: http://wolfparade.nonstuff.com/lyrics/#believe) |

| Ingrid Michaelson – Soldier Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song should have more comments. The melody in this is so wonderful. I thought Ingrid was okay before, but after hearing this song, I'm sold. | |
| Ellie Goulding – I'll Hold My Breath Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This is my favorite song by Ellie. It's so upbeat and gives off such a hopeful feeling. I feel like she's encouraging this person she's in love with to go live life while she's not around-- to do things they probably wouldn't do normally. She wants them to "reassure" her that when they're ready for a relationship, they'll tell her, because she'll wait for them if they wait for her. It's a really sweet sentiment. | |
| Allison Weiss – The End Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't know how anyone hasn't commented on this yet... I think this is about finally letting go of the feelings/bitterness she had for this one guy. When they separated/parted ways, they promised they'd stay friends, but he never put forth the effort to make that happen. I'm guessing she did though. She kind of understands his view point, but is still a bit sad about it, and if he's ever ready to be friends again, she'll be waiting. |
