I think it's about how politicians and dictators are considering weapons, especially those of massive destruction as cute machines. And they cant get enough because it satisfies their paranoya, hence they always want more! Btw, the prostitution and pornography thing could also be the meaning! But that's what's cool about the song: how some appearently insignificant lyrics could have numerous interpretations! |

Subjectively, I think SOAD in this song is criticizing the affair of Mary. She was a prostitute and then in a matter of no time, she became an allegory, a symbol and an idol. He had an out of body experience and the other day she was like Jesus' wife (her name was Jesus). So this caused the deteriorating of the christian religion (the wrong following then the falling). SOAD is also mocking that by saying in the chorus : Try her philosophy, they mean fill your life with sins and then do like Mary. NB: the affair of Mary is when Jesus came and saw people torturing a prostitute and then said whoever never committed a mistake can punish her, so everyone stopped. |

I think this song is treating a subject that SOAD has talked about before in many songs. It's about how bad drugs (chemicals) are. The person talkin is unable to stop his doping (cant stay sober), he's addicted. His addiction drives him to madness, and makes him reach a certain degree of extacy. But neverthless, causes him to abuse his girlfriend (the sucking part), and hallucinate in a cynnic way (let's fuck the world n rock). And then he goes on and invite her to come and eat chemicals with him. That's the way I see it! I love Daron's (and Serj's also) voice, very honest, true and emotionnal! |

This song is about how the development of earth by scientists and discoveries will lead to the fall of our world after that it have rised, because of the pollution, violence, extinction, ozone hole, global warming,...etc. The thetawaves and all the other stuff they mentionned in the song are the symbol of development and urbanisation. And they compared time to a midnight ride, so it starts in a brilliabt way and you're excited and then it ends up with being caught up by the police or crashing into another vehicule, so all this flurishing society will pay for the crime it has committed. Furthermore, SOAD insists on the fact that Finality awaits after all that, because humans are not able to put limits to their thinking and to their mental and senses' capacities. That's the whole thing! Good song btw, great thinking, abition aand anticipating by SOAD. SOAD is an excellent band from all the point of views, hope their hiatus will be over soon!! I think this song is a reflection about the meaning of life, but seen throught the eyes of a handicap or a disabled. He is expressing his pessimism and his desperate state while watching acrobats performing tricks and aerials in the sky. He is now hoping for the end of his life because he trusts he'll be one "again after the fall". He is kind of giving wise advises to people in these lines about "life, and small mind,...". The video is meaningless but emotionnal. It's a great song though, outstanding performance and achievement! |

I think is criticizing how authorities always send poor people to war. So the band asks the president to go fight the war himself (why don't president fight the war). And the slow part where they say : Everybody is goin't to the part.... , here they're mocking in a satiristic way how presidents always minimize the risk of war and convince the cititzens that the soldiers are going to party in the desert because the enemy sucks. Btw, great son, great instrumentation, great vocals, grammy-winning and grammy-worthy. SOAD, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, Nirvana, Three Day Grace are the best bands ever. Go take a listen to their songs>lol! |
