Bob Seger – 20 Years from Now Lyrics 8 years ago
This fantastic song always puzzles me. Your left with the thought of, Did she die? And he repeats "When she went" But, he says we'll be here for 20 years, and finally ending on the note of "She'll go"
I really wish songmeaning.com would add the lyrics, so everyone would give me some input...lol

The Band – The Weight Lyrics 16 years ago
I really think everyone is turning this song inside out looking for the meaning. I think it's simply talking about one man carrying a burden from many different people throughout the song. In every verse someone else lays more problems on him. Even the last verse about Fanny. She is the whole reason why he is even there (wherever that may be) to start with. But he realises while riding a train back to her that she's all he cares about. And he'll be damn glad to get back home.
Whatever it's about...it's awesome!

Metallica – The Outlaw Torn Lyrics 16 years ago
My personal thought behind the song is it's about someone who he loves, has died... And now he has to wait his whole life (without that person) until he finally dies too, and see's them in another time and place. He said "You make me smash the clock and feel...etc" That means theres nothing he can do about the situation but wait until it's his time to die, so he can see that person again. "I'd rather die behind the wheel"...means he'll devote the remaining of his life for the search that will lead himself to that person he lost. "Time was never on my side"... He feels punished because his whole life is wasted now. And so on... and so on... I think the song is really quite this simple...but an awesome song it is. And yes the S+M version is the best!

Alice in Chains – Man In The Box Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm sure the song is about many things including religeon or censorship....BUT Take a look at my opinion and see what you think.

Does anyone know what a GIMP is? It's basically a man that's used solely for sex. He's kept locked up in a little chest (a box just big enough to lay down in) and only gets let out a few times a day to eat and sex. He usually wears a black leather body suit, and is led around on a chain. His eyes hurt from the light when the box is open or he's let out. The term "FEED MY EYES" refers to all the dark and crazy things he has to see. Some owners of the GIMP's actually have their eyelids sewn shut, so the GIMP does not opinionate or have any choice. He defacates on himself, and knows nothing but strict orders of sex favors that he's told to do. When he don't comply with his orders he get's beat and humiliated (nose in shit - one of the many punishments)
Many Dominatrix, and others who practice Slave & Master, know's exactly what this song is about. You can also catch a glimpse of a GIMP on the movie "Pulp Fiction"

It's a scary world out there kids!

Eric Church – Can't Take It With You Lyrics 16 years ago
What I'm confused about is the end of the song... "Closing in on Dallas now, is the best love I've ever known". "And they say, you can't take it with you when you go"... What is he taking?...ya know?
