I have decided to perjure my credibility with my first post, and what better place the a Mushroomhead thread. Enjoy laughing at this: This is heavy shit. It's beautiful, but it's way out there in terms of being 'credible'. It's being expressed somewhat religiously here, but at it's core this is SORT of an advanced form of Anarchism. It's complex beyond my ability to explain, but basically follows the belief that every human-implemented system of control...government, social, religious, corporate, enforcement, judicial...everything, is dysfunctional because human morals, ethics and values are "stuck" at an evolutionary point that will either lead to self-destruction of humanity, or enlightenment. It has complicated connections with organized religion, which is thought to be intentionally attempting to fulfill it's "end of the world" rhetoric in the "Apocalypse-themed" biblical prophecies...via of all things, Nuclear Annihilation. Obviously, such an event could be defined as "biblical". The line "Understand That If It Was Up To Me I'd Free Charles Manson" is the catalyst, it's often postulated in those exact words, ie: "To save humanity all humanity must be deemed worth saving". That's just what I got from it. Interpreting Mushroomhead lyrics usually involves having to sift through the "stream of consciousness" ramblings of a writer who exhibits symptoms of...7 days of sleep deprivation. Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome, and it's interesting that when the writer employs more conventional writing styles he comes up with this. |
