Queen – Brighton Rock Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is just so fun to sing along too. I'm lucky that I can sing it, it's so high. ;-]
Brian May is definitely a wonderful songwriter, and one bloody awesome guitarist.

Queen – Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...) Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one hell of a good song... brilliant. The anger, the hatred, the venom, it's like a blade.

I think we've come to a conclusion on who this song's about (Norman Sheffield).

I doubt I could write such a harsh song without feeling a wave of guilt afterwards, but Freddie was so damn bloody honest with it that I could be encouraged to give it a go, especially since this song is fantastic.

A Night at the Opera is probably my favourite of Queen's albums.

The Feeling – Never Be Lonely Lyrics 17 years ago
"They tell me to fight it
Well they can bloody well just try it"

Nice edge to an otherwise very sweet song, I like it.

Queen – Somebody To Love Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, let's put the obvious first - this song is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Perfect combination of wit, emotion, imagination, and that Queen style that is right there in it despite the genre.

If Freddie Mercury were alive, his email inbox would be filled with fanmail. Filled all the way up.

Jeez, I wish I could've had the chance to talk to him... even be near him. But what happened? I came along too late for all of that, so my life is Mercury-less. =P I would physically drag him to the nearest bed.

But it's not worth wishing these things were true. All of us Queen fans have some Freddie in our hearts, and that's enough to last us a lifetime.

Bloody awesome.

The tune is just incredible. So Brian May, I think.

Queen – I'm In Love With My Car Lyrics 17 years ago
Haha, you've gotta love how adorably childish Roger was over that. ;-) Poor Freddie, though...

Roger Taylor's voice is underrated - it's lovely. I guess people are too busy comparing him to Freddie (who's voice is unbeatable in the specific style of Queen).

It's a real rock song. Truly.

And I find the lyrics amusing, too.

Queen – Love Of My Life Lyrics 17 years ago
Definitely about Mary Austin.

It's such a sweet song, really. The lines "When I grow older, I will be there by your side to remind you, How I still love you -I still love you" are perhaps the most incredible lyrics he ever wrote because he made the promise, and kept it through to the end.

Mary was so lucky to have such a dedicated man who reminded her of the truth at the end of his life. It really takes someone to do that.

Queen – A Winter's Tale Lyrics 17 years ago
Gosh, bless him.
He was terribly ill when he wrote this song, and he recorded the vocals two weeks before he died (so I believe).

Despite that, it remains one of his most beautiful pieces of music. Brings tears to my eyes (and trust me - I'm not one to cry over songs), the sheer perfection of it.

Freddie Mercury was truly an incredible person.
R.I.P.

Queen – Too Much Love Will Kill You Lyrics 17 years ago
Jeez, Bri really deserved a hug at the point that he wrote this song.

Imagine how depressed he was. This song was written during a down part of his life. His marriage was over, Fred was seriously ill.

I guess it would be his reflection on how life was because their was so much love in his life previously, then it all came crumbling down on him.

Queen – Liar Lyrics 17 years ago
Freddie's actually very good at that effeminate style he sings in for the first three lines. This song is underappreciated, I should think.

I'm guessing that it's sort of like 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'. Nobody will believe a liar. Nobody.

Queen – Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together) Lyrics 17 years ago
I honestly didn't know that Bri was any good at this sort of romantic-ballad or whatever you'd call it until I heard this song. I think it's basically a song that says - "I'll be there for you, my love, don't worry about distance"

Pity that those terrible boybands have taken this style in. It really had a great place with Queen and the like.

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics 17 years ago
I think bundens made a wonderful analysis of the song. I'm sure that Freddie would agree that you really do look beyond the surface and find the inner meaning of a song.

I agree with your idea completely.

Oh and to all you homophobics out there, this song is undeniably proof that gay people can kick ass just as hard as straight people can. Long live Freddie Mercury, hell yeah.

Queen – Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy Lyrics 17 years ago
It honestly doesn't bother me whether this song is about gays, bisexuals or straight people. Makes no difference to me. But we have to get the facts straight: Freddie Mercury was gay. I meant, he hardly always thought "Yes, I'm gay," or anything like that but his sexuality was homosexual - he liked men. If I (a hetereosexual) were to write a love song, it would be about the opposite gender because I am heterosexual. If I were homosexual, I'm sure that I'd look at attractive members of the same gender as me as I in reality do with attractive members of the opposite gender.

Anyways, this song is the sort of thing every little dreamer attracted to males could absolutely lose their hearts to. This song pretty much describes what lover-boys should be like, instead of the whore-screwing chavs that get all the girls these days. It's the most romantic Queen song I've heard of. Adorable.

Couldn't agree more.
It's absolutely adorable, that little sweetheart.

Queen – Killer Queen Lyrics 17 years ago
Well before I discovered that Mercury originally wrote it about a classy whore, I had my own interpretation of it.

I thought it was about this beautiful, intelligent, glamorous lady that the Queen boys were basically all over, but their was something absolutely odd about her - she drove them crazy. Yes, they really had to get to the bottom of that.

And so Killer Queen is devised.
