| My Chemical Romance – Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| could the ??? that you have possibly be "ask the angels made from neon and fucking garbage"? that's sort of what i'm hearing, but admittedly this is a VERY busy song, i'm surprised you got what you did. | |
| Sara Bareilles – The Light Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| oops, meant to type "i'm not enough, i swear it." | |
| Sara Bareilles – The Light Lyrics | 15 years ago |

these lyrics are slightly wrong. In the morning it comes heaven sent a hurricane Not a trace of the sun but I don't even run from rain Beating out of my chest, my heart is holding onto you From the moment I knew, From the moment I knew. You're the air in my breath filling up my love-soaked lungs Such a beautiful mess, intertwined and overrun Nothing better than this, oh and then the storm can come. You feel just like the sun, Just like the sun. If you say We'll be alright, I'm gonna trust you babe, Gonna look in your eyes. And if you say we'll be alright, I'll follow you into the light. Never mind what I knew Nothing seems to matter now Oh, who I was without you, I can do without. No one knows where it ends, how it may come tumbling down, But I'm here with you now. I'm with you now. If you say we'll be alright, I'm gonna trust you babe I'm gonna look in your eyes. And if you say We'll be alright, I'll follow you into the light. Let the world come rush in, come down hard, come crushing, All I need is right here beside me. It's not enough, I swear it But take my love and wear it over your shoulders. And if you say We'll be alright I'm gonna trust you babe Gonna look in your eyes And you say we'll be alright I'll follow you into the light. this is probably my favorite song off the CD. |

| The Pretty Reckless – Goin' Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i think i realized it was a stab at the church when i listened to it, but until i saw your comment i didn't realize just how much of a stab it really was. is it possible for something to be so unsubtle it becomes subtle again? that's what this song is making me think. | |
| The Pretty Reckless – My Medicine Lyrics | 15 years ago |
that was my first thought too. i mean, tiger in the room, baby in the closet? it's pretty much exactly like that movie; drunken, confused, sweaty "what the hell is going on oh my god" and then you find out that they were all drugged up and didn't know it at the end? "somebody mixed my medicine." |
| Pixie Lott – Here We Go Again Lyrics | 15 years ago |
it's "the cure ain't aspirin" because her "medicine" is going back out with her friends, even though she's going to regret it in the morning (i'm guessing a hangover). she doesn't want to not be there for all the moments they're going to have, even if it ends with her sleeping late and feeling awful. just a regular party song. it's like when people cure a hangover by getting drunk, i'm suppose. |
| Charlotte Sometimes – Toy Soldier Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i believe it's "severely lonely," instead of "it's really lonely." also, her voice is fantastic when she sings "you're bankrupt in your heart." gorgeous song. |
| Envy on the Coast – Mirrors Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i like how this is written as a letter. i dunno if that was the submitter's choice or if the band actually intended for it to be viewed that way, but the ending with stay the hell away, from me is SO AWESOME. |
| Fall Out Boy – Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i don't know if anyone mentioned this because of the amount of comments, but a lot-lizard is basically a truck stop prostitute, a woman who goes from truck stop to truck stop working for money. so that clears up the second verse pretty nicely -- painted dolls in the highway truckstop stalls? if you think about it, in their pre-fame days the guys must've spent some time at truck stops, so maybe pete is remembering the lot lizards they encountered. this whole album kind of strikes me as a call back to the van days, tbh, and pete himself has said several times on his blogs that he misses those days, so it makes some sense. |

| Fall Out Boy – 7-9 Legendary Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the thimble and acorn bit makes me think of peter pan, like the novel. peter and wendy exchanged a thimble and and acorn, if i remember correctly, and called them "kisses" because peter had no idea what a kiss was and wendy was shy. apothecaries will always make me think of the apothecary from romeo and juliet, but i wonder if that doesn't work for this song -- it follows with "to an understudy in forlorn love," and understudy implies a play (which romeo and juliet is) and forlorn love is pretty much the entire premise of the play. i like all of the literary allusions in this song! wish it had been more than a demo, honestly. it's bouncy and encompasses some amazing lyrics. |

| Kelly Clarkson – The Day We Fell Apart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i get kind of a masochistic feeling from this song -- they broke up and it wasn't amicable at all, and they're still in that bitching-at-each-other phase and she actually finds out she likes that side of him. maybe their relationship was too mellow for her or something, but she's finding out that since they broke up, she loves him again. Since you left I noticed now you're so much meaner and it's something I think I like it's kind of a self-ruining cycle, because if they got back together, she'd probably get bored of him again and they'd break up again until it possibly culminated in another reunion. this song is remarkably different from anything kelly's done before and it's really awesome. |
| The Pretty Reckless – Zombie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think the lyrics are "to all the few who wronged me" instead of "broke me." also, on the first pre-chorus bit, you have "2000 years have been awake" when it's "2000 years i've been awake." :) this song is fantastic and i cannot wait until a record comes out. |
| Lady GaGa – Again Again Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is absolutely stunning -- the best thing about Fame is that it's so diverse, and this song was a really awesome surprise. it's a pretty straightforward song, but i have to say, my favorite implication ever is from the second verse: He never really saw me Or waited when we were hooking up Yeah he'd a never last haha, yes, lady gaga. perfect. |
| Kris Allen – On Our Way Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| pretty self explanatory song, but i like that the title is "on OUR way" even though that line is never in the song. it sort of brings it around and connects you to kris and just, everyone. we're on our way. he has such a lovely voice. | |
| Panic! at the Disco – New Perspective Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| fantastic song by a fantastic pair of boys. i'm excited to hear whatever brendon and spencer have to offer, because this is an amazing song with catchy music, lyrics that are deceptively simple, and brilliant vocals. great job. :) | |
| Demi Lovato – Catch Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i dunno, i think that the change of music is intertwined with the lyrics. at first it's a soft guitar and her voice, soft and unsure and hesitant, and that's the part where she doesn't want to really fall -- "so i can see how badly this will hurt me when you say goodbye." as the song progresses she continues to be reluctant to really fall and confesses her fear of what her significant other could do ("i'm terrified of what you do, my stomach screams just when i look at you") to hurt her, but the chorus grows stronger with added violins and she says, "but you're so hypnotizing, you've got me laughing while i sing, you've got me smiling in my sleep." and then the bridge happens, and she finally is okay with it ("but here i go, it's what i feel"), and then we get the faster guitars and drums, which are this last huge burst of excitement and this big final acceptance. "i'm giving up, so just catch me." i think the musical is integral to understanding the song, and that demi has done an amazing job with both. i applaud her for this song, and all the other songs on her new album. it's an amazing CD. |
| Amie Miriello – Beauty Of Goodbye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i believe one part is "the truth is, baby, you were never mine." i can't get the other part, sorry. |
| Maria Mena – This Bottle Of Wine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i hear As the night moves slow you Look more and more like someone I could Love tonight Without the fuss "without the FUSS" makes more sense. regardless, it's an awesome song, the second i heard by her -- i was hooked immediately. she's got a gorgeous voice. |
| Mayday Parade – When I Grow Up (Pussycat Dolls cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this is a fantastic cover, made me headbang ridiculously and beam at nothing. who knew such a crappy song could sound so fucking awesome when sung by the right person? | |
| David Cook – Porcelain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i thought the line was "the paint is worn bare"? either way, this song is brilliant. "i pray to god i find my way back to something familiar, please tear me from this contraband." this song is full of beautiful word play and imagery, and david cook has definitely impressed me with this song. favorite off analog heart. it's not that difficult to pull meaning from. (when he sings "the cracks in your smile make it impossible to decipher something legible," i just beam at my ipod. perfect.) |
| Fall Out Boy – W.A.M.S. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i didn't say fall out boy didn't make sense. i said pete wentz doesn't. | |
| Manchester Orchestra – Slow to Learn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
She's sharper but she don't blow She's sinking to the bottom could "blow" here possibly be "float" instead? i mean, it follows with "she's sinking to the bottom," which would make a little bit more sense. i really like that part, the c flat and g sharp bit, so the "but she don't blow" throws me off. |
| Fall Out Boy – Tiffany Blews Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| alex deleon sings on this song! i swore that i heard someone besides lil wayne and patrick on here, and it was him, according to the liner notes. | |
| Fall Out Boy – 20 Dollar Nose Bleed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i don't really hear "when life keeps tripping." i kinda hear "the man keeps tripping," which maybe could refer to bush? "singing vows before we exchange smoke rings" could maybe mean promising things that never happened or that we didn't want to happen. but i'm not sure about that. |
| Fall Out Boy – The (Shipped) Gold Standard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i kinda get the idea that it's someone else's point of view on the hospital thing. especially since a. pete was supposed to be writing folie a deux from the band's pov rather than his, and b. they went to europe without him, thus the passports line from the chorus. maybe. still, most of the songs are snatches of lyrics that may or may not be together. some of the posts pete makes have lyrics that make it into three or four songs. |
| Fall Out Boy – W.A.M.S. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| in pete's blog on blogspot, it definitely reads freckle, freckle, which is actually what it sounds like. i'm not quite sure how you're getting "oh fuck" or "reflect." while it might not make sense, that doesn't really matter as this is fall out boy a la pete wentz, who never makes sense. ever. | |
| Fall Out Boy – (Coffee's for Closers) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i dunno, i get a very triumphant, rebellious feeling when i hear the words, "i will never believe in anything agian." it doesn't sound like he's giving up, more like he's happy about it. but then, that's just me. (it brings to mind "i'm not okay (i promise)") | |
| Fall Out Boy – W.A.M.S. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| egyptianmusk is right. the lyrics were posted in pete's blog back in august. though, in there, the first two words were "worry, worry," instead. but i sort of hear "hurry, hurry" too. | |
