Dishwalla – Counting Blue Cars Lyrics 15 years ago
I think that this is a song about someone dying. The child's shadow isn't anyone in the song, probably something he remembers. I think someone was shot, the whole walking with purpose thing drives that away for me. Then the chorus is tied into the end of each verse, when someone's dying they question faith and ask questions. In this case I think they are accepting death, or in shock because they were shot. Asking if they're very far now, and saying that they're on their way to see her, shows they feel like they are dying. I think the blue cars are police cars. The person dying says he's getting cold, so they move faster through the hospital, where they're shoes make loud noises, probably because they're moving very fast, and the linoleum floors. They have blood stained clothes, and the other patients and staff look at them like 'what the fuck' or you could say looked at them cross-eyed.

Citizen Cope – Sideways Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is about him having strong feelings for someone. And she doesn't return those feelings. I think its about someone who he wasn't ever with, and he's trying to get over the fact that she doesn't want him.

Citizen Cope – Hurricane Waters Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is about two people who were in a relationship. She died. He was in love, and he's waiting until he gets to see her again, "until the skies open up until the trumpet starts." He can only see her again when he dies, "until the spirit and the mind ain't fighting." He blames himself for her death so when he dies his spirit is freed and it doesn't matter anymore. What he means when he talks about searching for an answer and being stuck in the middle, in the middle of right and wrong, is he was making a decision about something. Obviously he regrets this, and it was the cause of her death. Probably related to a drug overdose, "a place you don't belong." So he will remember her for the good times, "in the blue skies." He wants her back, to show this he tells her he'll do anything for her, including carrying her through hurricane waters. When they meet again in the afterlife, and it becomes like it was, innocent, without drugs(assuming it was drugs).

What makes you think that he IS over her, and he doesn't feel like it's "over"?

Placebo – Passive Aggressive Lyrics 15 years ago
I believe this song is about two people who are interested in each other, but can't ever get on the same page as each other. And every time he starts to love her, she ends up not feeling the same about it "Every time I rise I see you falling". I feel this line has a dual meaning of that they both are in different stages of life, at one moment he is doing well, and she isn't. Obviously they both have some problems of their own to deal with, especially with her ability to commit to someone "Can you find me space inside your bleeding heart".
