I don't know how, but somewhere along the line people got this confused with A3's cover of Rooftops (originally by Hot Water Music). In the Rooftops cover they scream, "GEORGE! SMOKES WEED!" Referring to George Ragan of hot water music. The two groups are friends and influences on each other and did a split where they cover each other's songs. Apparently when they hang out they smoke a ton of weed. hopefully that clears things up |

This song is about fucking..nothing more nothing less....pure unadulterated F U C K I N G ginger elvis RULES! |
|
| Them Crooked Vultures – Caligulove Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| As Josh Homme is fond of saying (and as a lot of songs seem to be) "This song's about fuckin" | |
| Them Crooked Vultures – Warsaw Or The First Breath You Take After You Give Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| My fav song on an incredible record. I think this song is just about growing up, becoming a man, and yes...SEX | |
| Faith No More – A Small Victory Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
uhm...not making fun of you, but it actually says "It Shouldn't Bother Me" not "eat shit. pardon me" |
|
| Clutch – The Amazing Kreskin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| probably my fav. on the record so far. that's definitely subject to change, tho. | |
| Clutch – The Amazing Kreskin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
uhm..possibly about the state of the environment.(?) Neil has never really been this straightforward with his lyrics, so maybe there is more underlying meaning, but this is just what i take from it. it also, to me, seems to have a post-apocalyptic feel to it |

ALL HAIL NEIL FALLON AND THE MIGHTY CLUTCH!!!!! I keep waiting for clutch to release something sub-par but i think their incapable of that. Anyway I'm getting that this song is about a guy who either escaped prison and is on the run or just got let out of prison and no one wants anything to do with him |

actually there are several sources including a letter written by him to fans after their first break up confirming his born-again status. I don't think however that he's a complete "my body is my temple" kind of christian - just that he's found jesus as spiritual guidance... or some shit like that. I saw SDRE twice after their initial breakup and he was smoking and drinking as well. |

| The Mars Volta – Teflon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Actually, I read somewhere that This song was Cedric's take of what he would think if McCain were elected president. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but it definitely makes sense for the central theme of the song | |
| The Mars Volta – Luciforms Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I have no clue what it means, but the last 4 lines are some of my favoritee Cedric has written. especially the finger nail choir bit | |
| The Mars Volta – Luciforms Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think it's "Stockholm setting that we provide", not Stalk home setting. Stockholm would be referring to stockholm syndrom in which the kidnap victim grows close and even starts to like/love their kidnapper... |
|
| The Mars Volta – Teflon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| pretty sure it's "if they have me committed" instead of "if they have me come and tend) just makes more sense. unless these are official, in which case, i'm the a-hole | |
| Pearl Jam – Black Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i know this is years after the fact..but purchase ANYTHING by the Pixies and then think again about how original Cobain was. I like Nirvana as much as the next guy and think Cobain was a good songwriter ...but he definitely ripped off Frank Black. He even admitted to coming up with the riff of Smells Like Teen Spirit while messing up a Pixies song on guitar... | |
| The Mars Volta – With Twilight As My Guide Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
sounds good, but i think it's "I've been watching you fall to me don't desert me i'm not waiting" |
|
| The Mars Volta – Desperate Graves Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
are these official? if not i think i hear a couple different things: "the secret of love has *caught* its own tail and just won't give up" instead of cut..as in a dog chasing it's tail that finally catches it, but still chases it.... also "these are the splinters made from a single *blade* - just seems to make more sense in context. i dunno i could be wrong. as far as meaning, i have NO clue. maybe someone who is charged with an impossible task such as clipping an angel's wings. |

| Clutch – 7 Jam Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| yea in the story - Samson, who's hair gives him immortal strength, has his hair cut off and is chained to a pillars. as his hair grows back he turns into a baddass and start hulking out on the palace. | |
| Matt Skiba – Next To You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
mr. chainsaw is right. At least in my opinion I was always took "it's been uphill since then" to refer to the rest of his life since his birth year '76 to be an uphill climb or uphill battle. an uphill battle refers to in a war the army with the high ground or the top of the hill having a complete advantage. the army with the low ground will usually fail, thus an uphill battle being not a good thing. either way Skiba's lyrics are usually very clever and filled with double-meaning. you blow my mind, like a colt .45 every time is some of the best shit i've ever heard |

| Hum – The Very Old Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sound to me like a couple that has been together for a long time. The old man is on life support and the woman has to make the decision to "pull the plug". The imagery is all there with the wires connected to the man. "A golden disengagement leaves her with a house to fill" - she will be alone after she pulls the plug. Very sad song, with brilliant lyrics. Matt Talbot is an underrated genius | |
| Clutch – David Rose Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
John Brown was a general in the Civil War who fought for the Norh, He led a battle in Bleeding, Kansas as well as a raid in Harpers Ferry West Virginia (at that time it was Virginia. He was caught by the Southern army and hanged in 1860. I would think the David/Phillistine reference is to the David and Goliath in the bible, where david kills Goliath with a rock and a sling (thus John Brown's army was "david" and the forces he was against was "goliath) Side Note, Clutch lived in Harpers Ferry when they recorded this album which was most likely the inspiration. I love clutch and have yet to hear this song as well, but the lyrics make sense to me as a Civil War Buff. Oh yea I'm also from West Virginia : ) |
