I know your post is old, but I hope you read this. Now I have no problem with someone describing something as a panda in a dress as gay, but come on this is music, if you can't use more descriptive, or thought provoking terminology to describe what you feel through a song, then fuck off and get off of song meanings. The songs start off slow sometimes, and yes they sound very atmospheric, but not gay. Unless Joey Eppard starts talking about fucking another guy in the ass, then the songs do not start off as gay. Expand your fucking vocabulary. |

At first like sid, and ER, I thought acid, but as I looked deeper into the song tj's explanation fits well. Acid only explains a small bit of the song. I now think the rain in the song is washing away the paint in the house onto the floor. Great song, meat puppets are great. |

I'd like to add that songs can have 2 or more meanings, he may be drawing parallels from his childhood to death penalty in prison. Also I think the lines "stomach hurts and I don't care" and "so I'm strung out anyways" show that he may still be using heroin in prison, or is high while he is on the "Angry Chair" and that's why his parents are now mad, just like when he was little and got scolded. |

I also think the, my girls all out of focus is refering to some drug, but the reason for crosshairs in his eyes, is that is sound good,and relates to the gun idea. For me the gun loaded, and the song sounding like it is drug related, clicks and reminds me of syringe. |

Can someone straighten this out for me. Now I don't listen to Radiohead but I've read that they use the same line. "I want you to notice when i'm not around" Also Queens of the Stone Age used the same line in "You can't quit me Baby" I have it straightened out now. Radiohead first came up with the line. Queens followed, and now a 3rd copy cat. Call it sampling if you will, but staind needs to come up with their own lyrics. I don't like this cry baby new shit of theirs. Listen to "tormented" thats a good cd. only slow song on the cd is Four Walls (GREAT SONG), and if your a real staind fan you'll appreaciate the old stuff. Before the record companys fucked with their style. |
