| Grateful Dead – Loser Lyrics

This song is about all those desperate (or seemingly desperate) people in the world who rely wholly on other people for survival. The story is about a gambler on a losing binge that's asking for a loan to win his way out of his debt. He's begging and pleading his lover, as she is probably the last person on earth who trusts him. He's a loser that claims to have some mystical or inside knowlege of the card game (he can tell which card is the queen of diamonds by the way she shines) but in actuality, if he did have an advantage, he wouldn't be indebted to the point of asking his lover for a loan. This song is a warning to the fans, who, while they are renowned for their sense of community, should still seek to be wise enough to avoid being taken advantage by "losers" who care about nothing but self benefit. |

| The Beatles – Only a Northern Song Lyrics

I think people are putting more animosity into this song than was intended. It was a shot at Northern Songs Ltd. for sure, but more because of the fact that weren't actually listening to what the Beatles were producing than a tiff between George and Paul and John. George was concerned about his input and pay in comparison to John and Paul, but I think his main criticism here is that Northern Songs wouldn't have cared if the Beatles recorded the worst album in history, Beatlemania was in full swing and Northern was set to make tons of money no matter how good the music was. Thus, George is saying he's not going to get bent out of shape if some of his tunes don't make it onto an album, they don't know what good music is anyway. |

| Grateful Dead – Terrapin Station Lyrics

I love the line Some Rise, Some Fall, Some Climb to get to Terrapin.... Some people are successful, some people suck at life, and some people just check completely out and set their own standard of living, their own real world. |
