absolutely love it! i think it could be their best:) as previous writers have explained the song it think they hit it spot on;) and lyrically amazing is an understatement "You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain" It' never fair and sometimes you loose out. Amazingly written song! I really like it. just what I think- "I guess that's what I get for wishful thinking Should've never let you enter my door" The writer, he gets carried away with his imagination and longings for the girl- his wishful thinking-but then he later realises he was stupid, regrets it and he should have never got into the relationship with her in the first place. "Cause now I'm using like I bleed" I think chrisbcream26 is right, when you bleed it is incessant and he is using the drug-the girl, like he bleeds. It's weakening him "Now ladies gimme that... My ladies gimme that..." >>ha ha I'm not sure I understand why JT would say this? |

WOW, it's a bit weird that i only found this song like 7 years later. I think it is amazing. It has a lot to teach us. -I think there is a relation to drugs in the song. "And you're not thinking about tomorrow" Cause you were the same as me But on your knees" But I think the song writer tells us here that he acted similar to the girl in previous experiences with H. By not thinking about the consequences it had on the following days "Your not thinking bout tomorrow" "Cause you WERE the same as me" She is acting like he did whilst he used the drug. He had experimented with the drug before her. "But on your knees"- as if begging. She was not similar to him in the way that she was not as well of as him, possibly not financially secure and lacking in self esteem. Making her more prone to addiction and death in the end. "And angels fall without you there" He refers to himself as her angel because he is trying to lead her away from the drug and dependence on it. But he is inlove with her and he falls/becomes depressed when she is not around. "And I go on as you get colder or are you someone's prayer?" Basically what everyone else said, he continuous supporting her and attempting to help but she just gets worse or colder-closer to death. Although he can't deny the inevitable-her death, he still hopes that she is someones prayer, and she will some how pull through. I believe she dies in the end but he learns the lesson of life and love. "What's the things they never showed you That swallowed the light from the sun Inside your room" What is the things they never told you? He wonders if she knew of the devastating consequences, or if her friends just never told he, or lied. Because the affects and things she was never told about the drug stole the light from the sun, he could refer to her as the sun-he believes she is the light of his life- and the drug stole her radiance and energy, she is now dark. Inside your room the place i would go was light, lovely when you were clean now you are wasted it is dark, ominous. Just what i think half a decade later. |
