See what I think the people who say it's about love is right. I'll trying she said as she walked away try not to lose you she walked away and he was doing his best trying notto lose her but it still happened. two vibrant hearts could change is the hope he had that it could be different in the future. nothing tears the being more then deception, unmasked fear. his refferance the being tearing by deception is his heart shattering from her lying to him. unmasked fear would be reffering to the fear she had and has. the next line gives that away I'll be here waiting, tested and secure. Meaning though she's gone he waits for her secure that she's the one he wants to be with forever. nothing hurts my world just affects the ones around me, when sin's deep in my blood you'll be the one to fall. that would mean he doesn't let the pain of her being gone but he lets the people around him feel his loss. And when lies are deep within him she'll be the one to feel the pain she caused him. She'll be the one to fall. I wish I could be the one, the one who won't care at all. but being the one on the stand, I know the way to go, no one's guiding me When time soaked with blood turns its back I know know it's hard to fall, confided in me was your heart. I know it's hurting you but it's killing me. this whole part of the song is actually sung to the girl He wishes he could be her and not care at all. but being the one people know as the nice guy he knows he's doing the right thing and he's guided by his gut feeling. when he's been with her for so long and she turns her back he knows it's hard to let go but he has to because she isn't there anymore. He's sayin she trusted him with everything. But the way she treated him through it all and in the end he knows it's hurting her but killing him. Basically this is him saying through the effort of giving her the wanting to stay with him she stll wanted to change the world to how she wanted it. she got angry with him enough to kill him for him telling her she was wrong so she started revenging against him but breaking promises tearing down the walls they had built aroun each other. meaning he'd been with her from the start. the referrance to tasting salvation would be reffering to "saving" basically she thinks he can save him by hurting him. but that's my concept of it. and the funny thing is that I'm not even xian but that song is held close to me because of the fact that something like that happened with me in the fairly recent past. And this happens to be the song I'm reminded of her by. |

I actually think you make a very good point. a couple of my fellow maggots don't like this song at all. but I find it one I can relate with. I may not be corey Taylor or know what he's really talking about in this song. but my idea is this Do you Believe? Do you Feed like a Dream? ( he wants to know if she believes in him, and if he can support her like he could the girl of his dreams) Let me hear you BREATHE ( he wants to be close to her either resting his head on her or being next to her.) Let me watch as you sleep The Sparrow’s Eyes… Promises shift into judgments (He's asking her to be with him at night and if anything let him watch her sleep..I think what corey means is she had her eyes on him always and if he made one mistake she was there to cut him down and hurt him for it. Ruthlessly and relentlessly giving him no chance to stand up for himself. I cannot deny that you were designed for my punishments (the intesity of the hurt that she's caused him makes him feel like things in his past are breathing at his neck through her actions she's his punishment for his past mistakes and he can't deny it by the way she treats him) The Blood and The Body - Control the cut so it’s seamless Show me your Heart - Show me the way to complete this (I think this is about a sadistic way she hurts him again and again after he's shown her many times that he loves her. She still does it and won't stop. Whe he says "Show me your heart, show me the way to complete this" relates with what you said "2. Now… I can finally be myself Cuz I don’t want to be myself ( he's saying he can be himself without her, but the pain of them being meant to be for each other won't go away. (I don’t want to be myself) I cannot maintain a semblance of Normal anymore I’d rather feel pain than try to fit in with you anymore (he's lsot it from her doing the same thing to him over and over again. and he'd rather feel pain then try to show her they are the same, and he loves her for it. I’ll throw it all away, like everybody else ( Like everyone else he'll throw everything about her away and treat her like an object. The way she's use to being treated. but it sounds more like he doesn't really mean it, he's just angry at her for the pain and the hurt) I can finally be myself Cuz I don’t want to be myself FREE MY SEVERED HEART, GIVE ME YOU - I WANT IT (I don’t want to be myself) SHe severed herself from him, due to whatever reasons, I don't think it's sadistic I think it's more about a deep love that is broken by things he cannot control. I.E other people lying to her about him or point out his flaws systematically and holding him at fault for being himself, and she cuts it off because of it. I'm crossing my fingers I made some sense in this,lol. But all in all I love slipknot, they've gotten me through rough times. |

I think it's more about the things hapening in america. the fact our hope and dreams are being sloly erradicated. "and the reign will kill us al, throw ourselves against the wall" that's saying we're making a bad choice with whom we're going to see elected as president of the U.S. "but no one else can see, the preservation of the martyr in me" meaning that nobody can see the hatred disguises the martyr the outcasts that can help this country if we were actually given a shot to do so. we could make things right but "Oh, there are cracks on the road we lay but we're the devil filth The secret death gone mad?" We've tried to speak out before and say something but we were silenced or told to shut up and sit down "Hey get that back inside, I tried to tell you first Your hurtful lies are giving out Can't stop the killing, I can't help it. Is there something psycho? Is this what you want? Im not the only one!" the b.s continues because the people that really do care about the planet haev been deemed as "Heathens" and "Evil" But what we want is this country back to the way it is. we're oftened mixed and confused with the true "mentally insane" when we have some pretty decent ideas about things if people would actually sit down and talk with us instead of looking at us for how we look on the outside(Black clothes,spikes etc etc) Just because we dress for war doesn't mean we're for it. and it doesn't mean we're weak on the inside. but if we could be given that chance to right what has been wronged for 2,000 years. we could maybe make this place a better one to live in.
