This song is so beautifully written. I can't get it out of my head. My favorite part is "And if Cupid's got a gun, then he's shootin'". I feel like she is saying that it's out of her control. She obviously know it's "stupid" that she's staying. It's detrimental love or as kneesee puts it, it's about "toxic relationships". I think this describes so many relationships "I need you to need me."

This song IS absolutely gorgeous. This, to me, is about someone who wants to try and forget someone but really they can't and they are hoping that the other person is feeling the same. They feel crazy because they can't get the other person out of their head. They will pretend like they do not care unless the person tries to contact them. If that happens then he or she will not even show a trace of trying to get the other person off his or her mind. I love when the song says "I won't be dreaming of you dreaming of me anyway". So amazing! |

This song has to be one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. It makes you feel less alone though when going through a break up with someone you really care about. It's nice to know that other people have felt like you even if it is a miserable feeling. Misery loves company. This song is so pretty it kind of has to make you a little happy in the somber state. :) |

I personally believe that it goes further into physical relationships and how they are not enough. He felt her shape but it was dumb he had no sense of her size ( meaning he had no sense of her real package of the physical, mental, and emotional)...this meaning that there was something lacking. It's about just having a physical warm body being next to you and you can definitely miss that when you get lonely. But he even says "by this new depth I don’t think I ever felt". Wonderful song. I'm so kicking myself for just giving the Microphones a chance now. |
