I soo have to agree with this. I'm not religious either, so don't jump at me for making every song about religion, cause I don't. But when I was playing this earlier, my friend noticed the first line being the same as the lyrics to Gangster's Paradise, and my friend said what a ripoff, and I said it's probably from somewhere, and has meaning. Looked it up, it's from the bible. Then the lyrics made sense in a very different way, and I started to see the religious aspect of it, or lack thereof, as he doesn't know if there is a God, he's calling out to him. I can relate as well, I've done it before too, just in situations where I'd be like, if you're out there, show yourself and help me. Prove to me you're real. |

So funny, today the song was on the radio, and my friend was like, what's he singing? 'Colored boyfriend?' (the part where he goes 'The next day I ran into your current boyfriend') and I was like, huh? That doesn't make sense, well it does, but why would he sing that, does it matter if he's colored? and then My other friend was like 'coward boyfriend' and that doesn't make sense cause he challenges him to a fight so he can't be a coward. This song makes me think of a 'friend' well I don't consider her one but I can't exactly kick her out of my life. She judges and bitches about everyone, talks behind everyone's back, and pokes fun of people for things she experiences herself. Example, a mutual friend of ours (well good friend with me, doesn't like her for the same reasons), told me that before he met me, she was telling him of my parents money problems. WTF,first off, she and her mom left her dad who was abusive, they moved into my house, my mom and me did what we could to help them back on the ground, they barely live now, no work. And she's telling people my money problems? Actually I hate that I helped her so much and confided in her and she betrayed the trust. Anw, enough of my ranting :P So this song really hits home for me. She pisses me off. So what if my parents have problems? I don't let it get to me. But she should give up the grudge, shut her mouth and stop judging me and everyone else and take a look at her life. I may be a loser, but I know I'm not the only one :) |

As far as I know, you don't wake up from sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a difficulty breathing during sleep, you actually just stop breathing for a while. It's like holding your breath only it's involuntarily and you don't realize you're doing it. You sleep through the night just fine. The only time you find out about it is if someone is around when you're sleeping and they notice this anomaly in breathing. Just my two cents. |

As far as I know, it's about drugs. 'The Red' being about the visions you see when you're high. 'Slip away to clear your mind' - take drugs to feel better, they clear your mind as in open your eyes to a different world. 'Lay down, the threat is real' Lay down, the drugs are messing you up etc... The band has a lot of references to drugs, and I can relate to the lyrics, sadly. |

Once they realized it was all people knew them for, they decided they wouldn't do covers anymore cause that wouldn't be them, it would be someone else, they wanted people to know them for who they really are. Just wanted to say something 'Sure shows that they want to be known for their own music' I'm assuming they were asked after the popularity of this cover. and I'm also assuming that when they did the cover, they didn't know it would be all they would be known for. Most people, when I mention AAF, all they can say is 'the only song good by that band, is not even theirs...' I'm sure they got the offer after that song, when the label though 'well, they're good for covers, we should make them do more to get something out of them' and they thought, 'we don't want to do another cover, sure we might do it well like this one and get some credit for it, but it wont get us recognition for our own music, and who we long to be.' so they said no. Because they got fed up of being known for a one hit wonder cover. They're not a band doing something just to get fame or recognition, they're in it for their love of music. And I like that. They don't have the usual mindset of a band, 'does it make us more money? Will it get us on tv? We're up for it' And since it's songmeanings, well the meanings rather straight forward, the lyrics aren't much but I do like both versions of songs, agreeing with what someone said here, both are appropriate for their time. I like some of MJ's stuff, and I do like this song by AAF and a few others. And I'm not trying to attack anyone, just saying what I think was done. RIP MJ. |

Since there were no posts I figured I'd give it a try though I'm probably wrong, I think it might be a relationship falling apart. he's saying what have we become? What happened to that fun loving couple we once were and they don't listen or care about each other and no there's no trust left cause of the bad relationship. To me the meaning is kind of obvious, two separate situations both (likely teenagers) looking for a way out from life, i.e death The singer says that he knows that they'll find the right path which is not death but a way to go through life and make the best of it and find someone that cares and makes life better. | I agree with the first poster the most, though I must admit the way he's trying to get to someone but the sex keeps going in the way reminds me a bit of the Zohan movie, probably the stupidest reference ever but if you think about it Zohan became a sex god to the women customers at the hairdresser and in the end he realized he wanted the one woman but she wouldn't have him becuase, well he fucked random women all the time for a living and she wanted someone more serious than that and so it's like wehn he says must be a devil between us because he keeps seeing all these women for sex and can't get himself to stop. Kinda feels like the relationship with my best friend. We're both messed up inside and it's not helping us progress anywhere with our lives. Lady Paladin really got the meaning, at least for me, I want to fix him and I want to help and as much as I try to be there for him and help out I feel like I'm just messing it up even more for some reason and I wish that I could be the one that can fix him, i.e he could fix me for that reason. Such an amazing song, so different to the rest of the stuff, this whole album is amazing, they still have the upbeat catchy tracks and yet a more mature sound to it and these slower type tracks and even though it's different, it's still them and it still sounds amazing! He definitely didn't make his own beats, there are beat machines and people are paid to do that (I'm a drummer). His voice is disgusting, and those synthesizers are just so uughh. It's a nightmare to listen to him sing. Rock artists know true fans are there, they don't need to cover up so people can like them, even with terrible singing like in 'smells like teen spirit', where you can barely tell what he's saying, it became a massive hit. So what's Akon afraid of? Akon is truly awful! and since it's a song meanings site, I'll just state the obvious: it's about a stripper he wants to fuck. and whoever said it's a good song to play with a girl in the room, I'd slap you if you did that.
