@[grapefruitm00n:31218] Not mainly about suicide, but it does have that suicidal little part regarding the medicine chest. Its more about an adult yearning for his childhood |

| Iron Maiden – Mother Russia Lyrics

These lyrics celebrate the Perestroika. It's about Russia abandoning its totalitarian communist regime, the soon to come dissolution of the USSR, and marching on to democracy; "Can you be happy now your people are free" "now it has come freedom at last".
This song came out in 1990, around the time the whole Russian reformation process was pretty much done.
I really hope they play this song live once again (if they ever did), but political correctness will probably keep that from that happening. |

The album sleeve in Vitalogy prominently displayed a gun where the lyrics to this song were located. It seemed like a msileading image in order to make people believe that the song was about russian roulette. |

I listened to this for the first time, two days ago, andsince then I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I don't know how this didn´t go any bigger. Abouit the lyrics, the theory that they just form one part of an entire concept album makes a lot of sense. |

Drugs are so overrated. From Wikipedia:
"The song's lyrics, filled with colorful, dream-like imagery, led some to believe that the song was about drugs. According to the drug theory, the "flying spoon" in the song was a cocaine spoon, and the crazy animal images were an acid trip. Fogerty, however, has stated in interviews that the song was actually written for his then three-year-old son, Josh. Fogerty has also said that the reference to a parade passing by was inspired by the Dr. Seuss book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.[2] One of Fogerty's musical influences, Buck Owens, is also mentioned in the song."

This songs probably means nothing. Alice Cooper was dead drunk while writing it, and recalls nothing from creating it. He has never promoted anything from that album, which was reportedly made solely for contract fulfillment purposes. No use trying to figure it out. |

@[pijuyo:4233] i don't get the insults and the dislikes toward me. I gave my opinion of the song. Why does it have to be positive? To me the song sounds uninspired and unauthentic, and it was a big disspaointment. I'm a big fan of the band, but It's not my obligation to like everything they've done, and I can express it whenver I want to. You have no right to throw shit at me beacuse of it. |

Somebody? I like this song a lot, and I would like to know what it means.
If it says "he's my only passion", does it mean it's somethiong about gay sex?
Pick up a lady, tin foil in waiting, does this talk about the shiny costumes worn by drag queens or whores?
"Sniff on this" "snivel that", says there it refers to amphetamines. |

@[Bauds:2485] hahahahahaha The xact same thing I think. the song is slow, agressive and bitter because it's a Candlemass song. It is very enjoyable, but the lyrical themes of charitable love and heavenly gratitude sound kind of funny in the style of Messiah Marcolin and Co. |
