They opened their european tour yesterday in Paris. It was epic!!!!! It started with Idiot heart and they played The Empty Threats last, the only track in the encore. ( perfect progression ) You could tell Spencer was exhausted after this. It was sooooooo intense,jst watching them was exhausting ... I digress ... this song was breath taking! ... I dont think the album version is sterile but the live version is transcendental indeed I guess we all agree on the meaning,the last lines were therapeutic ! The Lyrics are so poetic and evoquing that I guess one can see so many meanings in this song I think it is about projecting ur ideals into a person, then loving the concept of that person .. and because it is all made up, u cant reason urself out of it .. spell sums it up .. Well .... I love it how some tracks' meaning seems obvious from a personal point of view ... before reading any comments .. I was like :O omg! this was written for me ( yeah I have egocentrism issues :P ) ... then it seems it can be understood in so many different ways ... I think it is about wanting to get over someone who's wrong for you .. not quite succeeding, pretending u r ok .. then realising u have to do something about it " my vision is cracked but it looks like it's healing " .. I can soooo relate to this one ... it is one of my fav tracks ever ... I guess the main idea is "caring is creepy" (like in he had a heart of "tin " or spit in the knob ... ) ... Well that's how I see it .. pretty much matches how I feel now (and quite often) .... almost feels too personal to be put on the net :P It's such a pity that they were always soooo underrated ....
