| I love this song. There's a feeling of longing and nostalgia in the introduction but then the sudden shift in tempo brings a happy, uplifting feeling that you can't help but bounce to. "Places exist, just when we need them." I think this is about feeling like you're in a black hole and just when you think there's no hope, you have some sort of epiphany and are able to start seeing the beauty in the world that you've been ignoring for so long. "If we can see everything that we could be noticing and really see we can wake from the dreams we're all dreaming." the song is not a break-up song. this song is a description of war like many of there songs. listen to the last verse that says, "lay your dragon's teeth in shallow water still". dragon's teeth are what the soldiers put in the water to stop tanks from coming to shore. "moonlight on my floor shining through the roof they got the city surrounded as if i needed proof". this line is about looking up into the sky through a whole in the ceiling and watching as everything gets demolished and blown up. |
