| Katatonia – Chrome Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
An awesome song, from my hands down favorite band. I think this song is about wanting something to happen soo badly. Anything. I think it's about hating to wait around and be uncertain when so much hangs in the balance. "burn down my house and make something happen, stab me in the heart and make something stop", that sounds like he's just waiting for anything, anything at all to come along and wake him up, make him see, show him something, anything. "cause I am so distracted I am slightly shocked by how things can keep going like a dead mans clock", I think that means exactly what it says, he's freaking out so much and doesn't understand how life is still moving forward even though something is happening or has happened that is so dramatic and has left him almost paralyzed, with fear? maybe shock? but definitely paralyzed. "the walls are painted, different every second"... I think that just means he's getting a lot of random information from different sources, or his surroundings keep changing over and over again and he doesn't understand why they can't just settle down. It's chaotic. "my eyes are of chrome, it is television".. something so big has happened that it's unbelievable, almost fake, yet it's heavy and intense and traumatic all at the same time. Chrome is slick and shiny yet heavy and scary, so I'm thinking it's something so surreal it almost seems fake and unreal (television). "layer by layer, i'm peeling away", I think this represents an emotional state described by important critical physical characteristics. this song can be interpreted in soo many ways. I think every one above is right. Katatonia is just too awesome for words. ;) |

| The Gathering – Waking Hours Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I can't believe that no one commented on this beautiful song. This is one of the best songs by the Gathering. Completely thrilling and captivating, sung so perfectly and with sooo much emotion. This song is about finding your place in life and accepting things as they are because what you've found is now perfect for you. You, being the key word. I definitely think this song is about feeling comfortable with someone and just relishing the moment, realizing that all surrounding things may not be perfect but what is, is remarkable. |

I love the Gathering and I love this song. I definitely feel that this song is about someone seeking a moment of freedom within a stranger. I think that this song is definitely about a one night stand, but one party in a one night stand temporarily seeking some kind of false love for only a moment, "cry with me, make my day, tomorrow all will be gone". Crying is a deep emotion to have with someone, especially someone that you just met. So I definitely feel like the character in the song wants some false emotion just because it'll make them feel better, even temporarily. They know the emotions aren't real, but they just want the indulgence, the illusion of something intense, deep and real. I think that the person who had the one night stand doesn't even really care, even tho she says she really cares at the end, she still doesn't really care she just wants to pretend like she cares because it makes her feel better. She's willing herself to care, to feel. "Now that you're gone, I don't know, how to really feel inside." But she said she just wants her "day made", so she knows how she feels inside honestly speaking, it's in my opinion a nice little play on words. Anyway, great music from a great band and anneke is an AMAZING singer and kills this song with the voice as sharp as an angel's sword. Very NICE! :D |

| Anathema – Empty Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song is about killing yourself with things that you know are bad for you and realizing that this is what's happening but you feel like it's too late for yourself. I definitely think that this song specifically has to do with drugs, because if it had to do with drinking it'd probably be something more along the lines of being empty bottle before it's empty vessel. Vessel can be a lot of things but in relation to the veins I'm definitely thinking it's a drug reference. the pulse of my brain line is more than likely the effects of the hangover. this song is by far one of the best songs i've ever heard in my life, I love anathema. |

| Depeche Mode – Never Let Me Down Again Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think this song sounds like it could be a song that Gore wrote to Gahan. When I think about it, I see david wrapped up and lost in drugs and gahan similar but in not such a bad state. I think Gore knew that Depeche Mode was going to be huge and was becoming bigger than their wildest dreams and that Gahan would ruin it all with his drug usage. In my mind, he posed this to Gahan and Gahan like all drug addicts probably stated that it'd never happen again, because he knows how important his band is to him. So when he says: I'm taking a ride with my best friend - I get: I'm taking a ride to the top with my best friend and my bandmate, I hope he never lets me down again: I hope he doesn't fuck it all up by doing something stupid like o.ding or, quitting the group, being a stupid idiot and ruining our dreams, He knows where he's taking me: He knows how big we're getting and that we're about to explode as a band Taking me where I wanna be: Taking the band to the top (lead singer, awesome voice) We're flying high We're watching the world pass us by: We're doing things that are beyond our wildest dreams Never want to come down Never want to put my feet back down On the ground: Don't wanna be stopped because we're too fucked to kick our habits I hope he never lets me down again Promises me I'm as safe as houses: Promises he won't do it again. As long as I remember who's wearing the trousers: Trust him because he's in charge, he's the lead singer and knows how important work, the band, etc. are. I hope he never lets me down again: doesn't really trust Gahan but will go along with it anyway because they're best friends. But that's just my cracked out ears hearing what they wanna hear. lol :P |

| Jeff Buckley – Haven't You Heard? Lyrics | 17 years ago |

this song definitely has to do with not being able to trust the government and how jaded people are when it comes to their friends, not realizing that their friends won't help them take a stand against unjust authoratative figures, they'd more than likely sell you out to save themselves when faced with the fire of the truth, "and the last thing you see is the lustre, hold the razor goodbye to your friends" the lustre being the hope or what one thought they would see, the razor is the truth, this truth that cuts you away from what you thought you saw what you thought you knew, the razor, the truth that separates you from your friends.... That's what I get from this song. And mmmmm I love his sexy voice LOL. It's almost hard to listen to his songs and be serious because I fall into swoon mode. LOL |
