It's pretty clear where the title of this track came from. You just have to listen to the first few seconds of the song. The opening tune is a very slight remix of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly theme song. One of the most famous spaghetti western films starring guess who......Clint Eastwood. As for the meaning I think it's drugs mainly because of the line "I ain't happy" <---Addiction to drugs. "I'm feeling glad" <----Suffering withdrawl, know has another fix to stop the withdrawl. "I got sunshine, in a bag." <----He has got his drugs in a bag. "But not for long, the future." <----Soon he will be withdrawing again and need another fix. Which is depression. |

I think this song is about ghosts, this is because it keeps saying "They came in..." and never specify how. Also it says in the song "You'll never see there faces at all.." obviously ghosts are mostly invisible. "The know my fears and cry in my tears" line represents the fact that they know how true fear feels, most 'ghosts' traditionally have a ghastly death and come back to haunt, and the "cry in my tears" is meant to represent the idea that the 'ghosts' have felt extreme pain. One line I don't get though is "They came in the phone that I'm in and threw the face on my wall" Anyone care to explain it? |

By the way, the line in the song "Holly caught a bullet, but it only hit his leg." Should be "PAULY caught a bullet, but it only hit HIS leg" Pauly is a nick name for guys named Paul and this line is clearly about a guy. Not a girl named Holly, otherwise the songwriter would have put "her leg." Instead of "his leg." So please correct this mistake. |

I think this is a song about what could happen to people you see in the streets or generally around you. The whole verse is just things that could possibly happen to certain people. Then the chorus is about a girl presumably who should have one future, that is with the singer of this song. Maybe it's just another random girl he sees on the street and hopes that this will be her fate. |

I kinda think this song is about drugs. The lines: "Outside the frame, is what we're leaving out You won't remember anyway I can go with the flow But don't say it doesn't matter anymore I can go with the flow Do you believe it in your head? It's so safe to play along" Sounds like peer pressure to do drugs. And then it says "You won't remember anyway" which I think is the person in the song experiancing a black out. After which it says "But don't say it doesn't matter anymore" which could be someone giving in to the drug after trying to get off it. And then it goes to say "Little soldiers in a row Falling in and out of love" could be a reference to people wanting to get off the drug. Then rethinking there decision and doing them again. This line makes me particularly makes the think it's a song about drugs. "But I want something good to die for To make it beautiful to live." The person wants to die from drugs. But have fun in the process of doing the drugs by getting high. It may be a song about the life of a addict. Doing the drug because of peer pressure, trying to get off the drug and giving up because your so addicted. Then explaining the attempts of his friends to get off the drug to, but then going back to it. But I don't know. All that could be fake. Only Josh Homme knows. |
