What do you think the whole "getting ready to get down" part is about? Since it talks about "If you want to see a miracle, watch me get down", I think it refers to a couple about to have sex for the first time. Very cute. Love it! |

| I thought it sounded cooler when I thought the lyrics were "going into town, lord." Tow Law sounds weird. | |

Great song. I like the version best where it's just him strumming on the guitar and singing with a lot of emotion and it sounds like his voice cracks once in a while. I like how the first two verses are simple realistic requests. It's like he's saying "Hey, see if there's a girl there, she means a lot to me, and make sure she's doing OK, it gets cold up there." But then he gets serious and desparate almost. Like the fella he's asking to do favors starts walking off. Doesn't ask "If" anymore, "If you're traveling," but just blurts it out, "Please, please see that she has beautiful flowing hair like I remember." And maybe the fella he's asking to do all these favors walks away here? Cause it seems Bobby is talking to himself in the fourth verse. And then I wonder if the last verse repeats because another man passes by Bobby, and he asks this man to do the same favors as the last guy. And what's sad is you realize probably none of these guys are even heading north. They're probably just walking by Bobby's house and they think he's a crazy man. This is my take on the song, probably not accurate but great song anyway. |
