I believe this song its about being trapped. It´s probably a sentation of loosing freedom. First of all you have the lines "after all of this years out here on the streets" ... and "you brought me into your heart and you slallow my pride" wich I belive its loosing your freedom by accepting a relationship with someone. And this relationship make this person vulnerable after being very sincere about his feelings with the other person, but this isn´t mutual. One day this ground will break, means the end of the relationship... But what about the mockingbirds? ... when you see the video the band its in a big cage and mockingbirds are around them .... In real life we trapped the mockingbords in cages, feed them, take care of them ....in other words we have total control of their lifes. Then its clear for me that the mockingbird its the person that has complete control of this guy´s life probabbly trough a relationship.... and also don´t let him be himself. Greetings |
