The chorus says it. Life is the room we're in now. Death is on the other side of The Window It hasn't been proven there is anything beyond that window but nothingness. The miniscule amount of light coming through is the only glimmer of hope, that there is an afterlife, but that keeps us awake at night. Are we just convincing ourselves that something more is beyond the window because it's been written down so many different ways by so many cultures over so many years, that it has to be true? or should we ignore the possibility as if we're just crazy? this place is to express opinions of meanings and i dont see why this song couldnt be related to what und3r said. how do you know its not about Chi? im not saying i agree with anybody, but just saying you can relate most of the song to Chi if you tried to. maybe its about an on again off again relationship. each season is them together. when they are apart, they can finally breathe. but something keeps bringing them back together, probably just the sex via hotel rooms as they have other lovers in their lives, thats why its a mistake. "This is as real as it gets with weapons in hand. We opt to not lay down our guns." each time they breakup or whatever it hurts, but they wont let their guards down, so it will never work out in the end. each time could be the last goodbye. in another way when i hear this line always makes me think of cheating. "And if you decide that you need a thousand heartaches, and into this hotel room was the greatest mistake." so who the hell knows. 36cf is badass. |

This song is awesome. unfortunately, right now i can only relate to some parts, like, being "in my darkest hour". im still hoping something will "Lift me up and make me whole-Instill in me a new hope-Breathe new life into my soul". albeit, i doubt it would be through god. Thrice is one of the greatest bands of all time, but lately, its clearly not the same musically as it was with the first 2 or 3 albums. still, much is to be liked. Dustins solo album is cool too. peace. |
