Placebo – Ask For Answers Lyrics 16 years ago
...and on that note, the whole song sounds like it could be about a drunken one-night stand.

It's about pool hopping, skinny dipping. Within-without, fall in, fall out... they hop from pool to pool, naked, hoping not to get caught "keep it low around here" so the neighbors don't call the cops.

Linkin Park – Hands Held High Lyrics 18 years ago
Linkin Park, the great band that they are, are now owned by Columbia Records and are basically at the mercy of that company/record label. Once LP signs a record deal with Columbia, they sign over rights to their music and lyrics. The label owns them, and being a major label run by a major corporation, artistic freedom, despite what some may think, is totally gone. That's the way Big Music works. LP's style changed drastically on this record because Columbia contracted LP to do a record that THEY think would sell. More than likely, the majority of this record was written by Rick Rubin, with some here-and-there input from LP. Sadly, though, its no secret that LP is now just another tool for Big Music to push their played out, manufactured product on the masses or "Sheeple." Sad but true. My point is - who cares what this song says, because you all are missing a critical point: Columbia paid Rick Rubin tons o' money to do this song for LP because in the rock music industry right now, Anti-Bush, Anti-War, Anti-Religious stuff is edgy, cool, and above all else IT SELLS. Think Green Day, they did the same thing. Follow the buck people - it will answer all your questions. Just like Big Oil, Big Government, and Big Tobacco to name a few, Big Music has your balls/brains in a strong grip as well. Stay independent. Stay honest. Keep music for what it is.

Hoobastank – Up And Gone Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is about ebenezer scrooge. Think about it. "Staring at the light above, can't tell if Im alive or am I dead, or is it in my head?"
- That's where the spirit visits him in bed and he says things like "am I dead" and "you don't exist but in my mind...as an undigested piece of beef, etc.."

And remember scrooge was a happy kid when young, but now he's become "cheap and bitter, a cold unhappy man" Hey I don't know if Doug would really write a song about " A christmas carol" but the lyrics fit!
