Title Fight – 27 Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I'm wondering if maybe he lost a friend and he's talking about his grief. |
A Day to Remember – The Downfall of Us All Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Dear Uneed2recognizeaplaya, You, sir, are an idiot. You are correct in that they are still on Victory. However, as far as it being a label that "doesn't twist arms," that is bullshit. Maybe not as much as major labels, but it is definitely worse than any other "independent" label (and far worse than any hardcore label around). Bridge9, Deathwish, Rivalry, etc. all give their bands much more leverage. Not to mention, Victory records is solely out to make money, not to build any sort of positive community. But on the main topic: I agree that this song is great. Seriously good work from ADTR. |
Rise Against – Like The Angel Lyrics | 15 years ago |
God I miss when this band wasn't huge. Not meaning to not congratulate them on their success, but I just really hate some of their fans. And it seems that the bigger they get, the more they drift away from their hardcore roots. But isn't that always the case? |
Shook Ones – First Lunch, Then War Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is a criticism against people who spend their lives worrying about their after life and the opinion of God rather than stopping to enjoy their lives while they're here. Good song. |
Shook Ones – Order Form Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ever been to their myspace? It says pop-punk/hardcore. They have both pop-punk qualities and melodic hardcore qualities. |
Bane – Count Me Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Crusades, are you sure? Cause I'm pretty sure that Aaron Beddard is still edge. Or were you referring to Dalbec? |
Have Heart – The Unbreakable Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song damn near moved me to tears when they played it live. |
Project X – Straightedge Revenge Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Hardcore was violent wayyyy before this song. |
Ceremony – Kersed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it's about the isolation and solidarity felt within the hardcore scene. So many kids find acceptance from this community, that they've never gotten anywhere else. And, with that empowered feeling of acceptance, you can "pack your fists full of hate [for the rest of society] and take a swing at the world." |
Bane – Wasted On The Young Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is speaking directly to young people who claim straightedge. It's saying not to make a lifelong commitment to anything, let alone the pledge of being drug free for life. It's saying that one has plenty of time to decide what's right, and that when one is young, one should break rules, test the boundaries, etc. Not live by a code during the time in one's life that is supposed to be the most carefree and reckless. |
Shook Ones – Order Form Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song the balls. Definitely Shook Ones at their top. I think it's about a guy who doesn't want to marry his girlfriend as an act of civil disobedience, saying that he doesn't want the right since homosexual men and women aren't afforded that same right. Pretty political for a pop-punk band, eh? |
