seems to sum it up best, to me.

I've been wondering about the part where it says "I'll cast you a spell
A magic where everyone plays dead forever
And you'll never smile
There's nothing inside you...tonight."
It seems sort of adjacent to the meanings found in the rest of the lyrics, of teenage masks and fake smiles.
Playing dead-which can be taken to mean apathy-seem like it would make things worse. |

i like the urban legend idea. It makes me see the song as less of a solid idea, like the way stories are changed over time. Because it's true, we really don't know for sure what the setup is. Cole, MSI Cherry Cobb, or even Jesterbunny could be right. If I were the sort of person who wrote fanfiction, I would definitely be inspired by these lyrics. |

When I hear this song, I think of drug dealing for some reason. "Turned him into a video kid like you," "Got a new face got a new way to score..."
It also reminds me of an anime I saw once, about these two people who were selling...well, not really a drug, they called it 'aromatherapy'. It brainwashed people and warped their view of reality.
None of this really fits the song or anything, and it's not like I see TBM as being into drugs or anything. I just thought it was interesting. |
