Jack Johnson – Bubble Toes Lyrics 15 years ago
For those not in the know: "DLG" refers to the common dining area on the UCSB campus in Santa Barbara. DLG is an acronym for De La Guerra which carries historical significance in the Santa Barbara area.

Rush – Anagram (for Mongo) Lyrics 16 years ago
Plenty of creative lyrics in this one. As already stated a lot of anagrams. The most obvious indication of this, to the listener is the line "there is tic and toc in atomic" although even that not so subtle hint may sneak by many listeners, it is a clear indication of the word play going on in this song.

I Particularly like the line "Image is just an eyeless game"

Take the "I" out of image and rearrange the remaining letters and you can spell "game". Thus the lyrics are, cryptically, being quite literal. Image IS indeed an "I"-less "game"

Clever.

Rush – Double Agent Lyrics 16 years ago
THe meaning of this song is very ambigious. I have created my own interpretation that I am pretty sure is not correct, but it lends itself well to the song title.
I imagine the lyrics are from the perspective of vampire caught between the legitimate life he wants and the primal instincts he can't ignore. At the same time there is a sense of disillusion in his psyche since he is not able to differentiate the real world, that is his nightmare, and the dreams that are his escape from the horrors of his existance.
Lots of visual metaphores lend me to this theory, and the last verse is a somewhat twist ending...the vampire awakening to realize he actually has embraced his nightmarish existance.

Rush – Tai Shan Lyrics 16 years ago
Clearly this is Neils first person perspective of visiting China and how it moved him. I'm not sure where he went, but it seems that he describes whatever he was feeling in those moments.

Rush – Bravado Lyrics 16 years ago
The meaning of this song is not too hard to figure out but the line that stands out to me is:

"And when the music stops, there's only the sound of the rain"

Neil Peart does such a beautiful job of creating metaphores that define the topic while also giving the listener a haunting visual to accompany it and this is a great example.

In any act of bravery or perseverence that is cut short , the "music" or struggle and anticiaption of success gives way to the dark saturating cloud of dissapointment.

"we will pay the price, but we will not count the costs"

There is always a price to pay in failure, but bravery does not recognize failure and to keep stock of those failures is ultimately a hinderance, thus we should not count those losses in order to allow us to psychologically push forward and ultimately achieve.

Beautiful song-One of my favorites from Rush.
