Usher – Confessions (Interlude) Lyrics 18 years ago
He isn't a cheat. This is a fictional song about a protagonist who is burdened with the consequences of adultery. Usher had his first child in the winter of 2007, this song/album was written in 2004. It is a beautifully crafted tale of an individuals regret and subsequent struggle to adapt to the new life he's destined to embrace due to his actions.

Prince – How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore Lyrics 18 years ago
His greatest song. Epic!
Lyrics are pretty self-explanatory - Melon's spot on.

Stereophonics – You Stole My Money, Honey Lyrics 18 years ago
Excellent song - Simple and direct.

The "You Gotta Go There To Come Back" Album was their finest work... LSVO is a pile of bollocks & although Pull The Pin was a slight improvement, they just don't compare to the outstanding first four albums.

I hope they return to more mellow work at some stage in the future.

Michael Jackson – The Girl Is Mine Lyrics 18 years ago
An incredible song by two incredible artists.

Regardless of the allegations against Michael Jackson, he is still a musical genius, completely worthy of the title alongside McCartney.

Excellent work.

Stereophonics – Lolita Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, the song is named after his child Lolita, but i find it difficult to believe that it has anything to do with her.

From what i make of it, it seems to be about a girl that he admired and respected, who lived a poor and dangerous life ("Sold junk at the carousel") in order to survive ("Bind you")

He explains how she made him happy, ("You make my wheel set me free") and as a result, he got mixed up in attempting to save her but failed.

"Oh everything has gone wrong
I left you at the gold motel
Selling junk at the carousel
That bound you down
Can't find you now"

A lot of songs within Language, Sex, Violence, Other, seem to focus on regret and loss. Maybe this is yet another example?

David Gray – Flame Turns Blue Lyrics 18 years ago
I think what he means by "when the flame turns blue" is that he will be reunited with her as the love is strongest like the flame is hottest...

But that is unlikely to happen as jag3892 highlighted earlier...

The man is a hero like...
Great song, great guitar, great voice...

The Faces – Ooh La La Lyrics 18 years ago
The song was written by both Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood... With Ronnie Lane taking the vocals. Although sustaining an optimistic melody, Lane/Wood focus on an issue that affects all of us be it male or female...

And in response to neogeon's statement... I think Ronnie is talking about how when we look for further sexual gratification, women have a tendency to neglect our desires thus leaving us "twinkling with the stars..."

The man is a hero... A great loss to the music industry... R.I.P. Ronnie Lane...
